One of these days I *will* hear Raul sing Being Alive. I'm sure it is fabulous, as everything else he sings. I can't imagine how draining a show like this should be. And at the same time, I always feel rediculous when he says "thanks for coming". With Raul, I feel like I should thank him for the performance. There are a lot of sacrifices one has to make. And one of the cool things about Raul is that he is always so real. He tells it like it is. I love that.
I'm so blessed to be able to see great artists like Raul create something, and even more blessed to chat with him sometimes about his work. He is so supportive, and that is also something that is a bit rare.
I've had good experiences with him, and not so good ones. But he's a human being, and he doesn't owe anyone anything. He didn't ask for the fame. It just sort of came to him because he's such an amazing performer.
Raul is incredible in so many ways. And I'm so thankful for him and his remarkable talent because he really has enriched my life in so many ways.
