funny little Taboo story:
Raul Esparza made his entrance this girl in the mezzanine screamed something along the lines of
"AAAH RAUL! I LOVE YOU! MARRY ME! RAUUUL! RAUUUL!"
for a moment there i thought it was Emcee. but she has too much class, she would've appeared at the stage door with her wedding dress and pastor

It's such a cute icon! I know you on LJ too, right?
Congrats on your fish!
ETA: Awesome story. So would they *both* be wearing wedding dresses, in that case?

SS, I'm better known as spiffykates on lj :)
Thanks, it's not a puppy but it's a lot of fun to look at.
Hey Caroline, what was Raúl's response to the mezzanine girl? I bet it was interesting.

hah, thanks, CQT -- plus the fact that, I saw Raul's standby.
I can't tell you how much I love the fact that you named your fish Grover and that you have a Grover on your desk, gillygalls.

he got, like, a minute of applause. So, he just stood there and when she stoped yelling and looked up at her, gave her a smirk, lifted his eyebrows and winked.
it was very funny

I bet she accosted him at the stage door that night.
it was a great performance, though. When Raul revealed the "lemon outfit" she went at it agian. with cat calls, whistles etc.
it was a little much, but funny none the less

Grover is my own personal Jesus. Ever since I first saw him on Sesame St. I bowed down to the greatness that is Grover. When I get back to the dorm room I'll take a picture of the Grovers and share. :)
I want to see Taboo now... or maybe listen to the cd. I won't mention that this weekend has been a totally Taboo-centric weekend. :)

When I was really little, I liked Grover best simply because he is my favorite color. But Grover and I go way back, and I love him very dearly. I am such a loser. When I came to school, I left behind about 18 stuffed Grovers at home.
And I must say that while I would probably not do so myself, the lemon thing is totally cat-call and wolf-whistle worthy. Oh. My.
What did he do the second time? He tends to respond to audiences in character, so I could see him having a field day as Philip with someone like that.

Posted: 4/15/06 at 8:42pmI'd never have the balls to yell out to an actor like that during a performance.
#2086To great talent...
Posted: 4/15/06 at 8:44pmMe either. I've done milder things of that nature at curtain calls a few times; I'll admit that.

Posted: 4/15/06 at 8:44pmYou know how we were talking about Raul making us feel better? I am trying to get him to work his magic on me by repeating Petrified. That's a really cute story, he probably was afraid of her at the stage door, poor guy.

Posted: 4/15/06 at 8:45pmHis "you freak me out" looks is really priceless.
#2089To great talent...
Posted: 4/15/06 at 8:46pmI couldn't even bring myself to yell out like that at a concert where it would be a little more acceptable. I'd be too worried that the people around me would give me dirty looks. But at a theatre, no matter how casual the air is, it's just rude to yell out like that. Curtain call is totally cool, and I'd probably announce my never ending Raúl love then... if I had the stones.

I'm not brave or ballsy or ANYTHING like that, but sometimes.... adrenaline? I have no idea. A few friends and I did it to Raul once. He was cute about it.
.... two years later, I feel dumb.

Adrenaline makes you do crazy things.
I wonder if 2 years later he'd even remember. Probably not, so you don't have to feel dumb about it!!

It is on tape!
It was in Bryant Park, and there were so many people and so many stage lights that I know he just heard voices and didn't see faces, THANK GOD.
I hope those friends never want to blackmail me.

Maybe I'll yell out "Raullll I loveeeeeee youuuuuu!" during a tender moment of Company. I'm sure he'd remember that.
