Aww, thanks. You'd be surprised how much time it took to make those ears... I should have been doing homework. It's kind of amazing the ways we find to entertain ourselves.
Someone get all these pictures of Raul away from me.
Kinda random and not totally ontopic, but my 6-year old cousin along with several other of my adorable cousins were here from Passover. I have a lot of playbills on my wall, which they like looking at. But a lot of my playbills fell off the wall so I reconfigured things. Anyway, my cousin looks for a bit, and finally went...where's the playbill of the big car??
It was cute; I was just glad he remembered anything Broadway-related.
My family is being bad this year...we went to Boston and came back yesterday so we were too lazy to have a seder. Tonight we had a makeshift seder with brisket, matzo, gefilte fish, etc., though.

Morning.
Is anyone familiar with those frames they sell in Times Square with the Broadway show pictures inside? Well, anyways I started making a border with them around my room in the summer and yesterday I got three more. I saw a Cabaret one and grabbed it (not really looking at it since it was 11 at night) and it was only until later that I realized it had Raul on it! I was so happy
Oooh! Could you post a picture of it?

Ooo pretty! I want to see too! That's really cute about your cousins WickedRent! I am going home this weekend so I 'should' have my picture of me, Spotlight (who posted on here like once I think?), and RAUL tonight! I'm sure he looks adorable, and we look terrible (isn't that always how it goes?), but I'll post it for you guys!

I was just listening to TTB in the car with my mom, and do you guys ever notice that sometimes the ending of "Louder than Words" will be like it was in the show (just the Happy B-Day theme with one last piano cord) and sometimes it will actually finish the song with the word 'words'? I used to think I was crazy, but I swear I've heard it do both from the SAME CD. It's so weird.
Shiksa, there are two different versions of Louder than Words that are recorded. The one from the cast recording ends with "Happy Birthday," and I'm pretty sure the one where they say the final "words" was recorded to as a single.
It makes me feel all kinds of lame to realize that one of the only, single things that can get me to relax and chill out entirely is this man's voice.
I had a bunch of those Cabaret ads for a while, and I had no idea who the picture was of. Like a year after I got them, I was looking at it one day (I hung it on my wall) and suddenly was like ".....wait a second...."

Oh, that makes sense. Still, it's weird. Ugg, the photo place near me is having problems with it's one-hour photo machine, so I don't know when I'll have my picture with Raul . I am very impatient about this, lol.

There are times in my life when I would put "Petrified" on repeat. Sometimes, it's the only thing constant in my life. I can always go back to it. Raul is so wonderful. There are no words to express my admiration for him. He is the best.

I'll second that. His voice, it's so soothing, and he just fills me with peace. Sometimes you just need to crank up the volume and just let his talent fill your ears.
I wonder how much backlash Company will have to deal with from Sweeney fans if (as the popular theory seems to be) Sweeney closes to make way for Company? Hopefully not a great deal...
I think that (well, I hope!) people will realize that if Sweeney closes when Company comes in, Company's transfer probably isn't the only reason. The Sweeney contracts will be up around that time, I think, and -- I was just saying this on another thread -- re-casting is going to be a nightmare, which might mean they just close then. And Sweeney fans are Sondheim fans. Fans of that production are fans of Doyle's work. So they're gonna like Company too much to really give it a lot of backlash, I bet.
All good points. I hope you're right!
I guess all of Doyle's shows will have that recasting limitation and thus a pretty short shelf life. Which should quell the fears of those people who whine that he's killing the concept of having a large orchestra.
Edit: Your avatar makes me giggle, Em. I love it.

Better a small orchestra than just a bunch of synthesizers...
So, my friend found this picture of the real Phillip Sallon, which you all may have already seen, but I hadn't, so I thought I'd share. Also, a picture of the real Nicola, which is cool.
