Oh I love me some Sherie Rene Scott. The woman never ceases to make me smile and laugh. One of the few performers I have seen that broke my heart with her first note/look in Last Five Years. What a talent that she was able to change her emotions in a matter of minutes.

She is awesome. Is she French?

Yay, a Sherie thread! :) Sherie is my favorite performer (along with Norbert). I absolutely love her voice and she's an incredible actress!

RE: L5Y, I agree about her ability to show so many emotions at once. I LOVE her meltdown on See I'm Smiling and many of her other numbers are hysterical. She can do anything brilliantly.

She's very funny as herself as well as on stage, going by her Chatterbox appearance, and has an Amish/Mennonite background on one side. I find it hard to believe that she would have been fired from Aida for any reason, but have nothing to go on there.

Yes, her husband is Kurt Deutsch, and the company is a combination of their first initials. Go to the website in Emcee's signature if you're unfamiliar with them. They've already got a sizeable number of recordings available.

sherie rene scott is FABULOUS!!! her last note in "here i am" at DRS was so great, i can't get over her voice.

but here's my question about her:

i wouldn't classify her as a classic belter and almost not even a pop belter, yet she's not a legit/mix kind of voice, what would you call it?

As I said, I havent seen her in DRS but I hear shes an honest to goodness revelation. This is another strong year for females in musicals! (Although, not nearly as tough as last year)
