Thanks!
Yea, I was just trying to see if Joe's Pub is going to be like Ars Nova - most likely since there is the same musical director.

Posted: 3/11/06 at 6:49pmMano said it's gonna be a little different. And Peter Foley's a GREAT musical director, so I'm sure it's gonna be a really great concert.

So...a bunch of family friends came over for dinner tonight...and I mentioned Sweeney...and talked about how great Mano was...and now a bunch of them are going to see it.
. Everybody loves a convert.

Posted: 3/11/06 at 8:20pmAwesome. I'm taking my parents to see it when they come visit me in April. I really hope they enjoy it, cause it's not really their "thing". But they DO appreciate great art and theater. I'm sure they'll love it.

Posted: 3/11/06 at 8:42pmWasn't there talk of maybe recording a live CD for release from one of these concerts? Just trying to figure out if I'm confused.
#2005The Land of Mano, where the violins roam freely
Posted: 3/11/06 at 8:53pmNo, no. Mano said that he was going to put audio (maybe video?) clips on his website (whenever he gets around to finishing it...). But there's been no talk of releasing commercial cds. It'd be awesome if they did. But no plans so far.

Okay, thanks for the info!
I have no idea where I got that impression.
#2007The Land of Mano, where the violins roam freely
Posted: 3/11/06 at 9:18pmI'm actually pretty sure somebody messaged Mano and he said that a live recording was a good idea...you aren't insane!

Posted: 3/11/06 at 9:22pmOh, he definitely WANTS to do it. And it would be great. But there are no plans as of yet.

Posted: 3/11/06 at 9:36pmThat was me. I asked about a solo album and he responded, "yes it's in the works. Possibly live from the upcomign Joes' gig."

Posted: 3/11/06 at 9:54pmOh, good! I'm not going crazy, then. Whenever it does happen, I'm sure it'll be amazing.

*hugs thread*
*puts Mano on iTunes*
I think his typing is worse than Adam's? It's cute.

Posted: 3/12/06 at 12:58amI don't think it's worse than Adam's. He just types quickly and doesn't read it over. Anyway, his blogs are nice and correct, it's just his 4 am messages that are a bit off.

hee. I wonder if he really gave a sh*t what nationality I am.
Adam's grammar is lazy, but he doesn't have typos. It's a weird mix!
Mano, stop being up at 4 a.m.

LOL.
My mother was pretty disinterested again.
She just wanted to know if he was Jewish. Because according to her, there are Portuguese Jews. Which I do not doubt, but he is still too old for me.
.... she also can't say his name right.
#2021The Land of Mano, where the violins roam freely
Posted: 3/12/06 at 1:28amMy mom insisted on walking around the house singing "Felciano a ti" spelling...as opposed to..."Feliz cumpleanos a ti." I had to let her down slowly in informing her that it is, in fact, FELCIANO, which threw off the rest of her song...C'est la vie...Spelling Felciano FelIciano will prove to be deleterious.
#2022The Land of Mano, where the violins roam freely
Posted: 3/12/06 at 1:30amMy mom didn't even get to the Felciano part. She kept calling him Manuel.
#2023The Land of Mano, where the violins roam freely
Posted: 3/12/06 at 1:32amMine too. And she was confused as to why I felt I could call him Mano. I told her it's what *everyone* calls him!

She DID get the first part right, though. So she pronounced it like "mah-nuel." I shall teach her.
If I said "Mano" to my mother, she'd probably ask me what I was talking about and who has it... and that I shouldn't share drinks.
