It's not just limited to girls in the early '90s. It's equally nasty to see the girls now who aren't exactly a size 1, squeezing into too-small hip hugger w/ their love handles oozing out. Ick.

When I saw Rent there was this rather hefty middle-aged lady wearing a pair of those tight blue pants in the audience. Don't know if it was as a tribute or what, but it sure did not look, or sound, comfortable.

I do know that after she left the show - I stopped carrying MiMi's to their final scene... not that the new mimi's were huge or anything - there's just nobody that tiny...

Tiff, that is my worst pet peeve. It makes them look heavier than they are if they accent their fat roles with tight pants. Swallow your pride and buy the right size. It looks so much better.
