oh yeah...
but story time and parties and beach day are sooooo much fun!
Not to mention the fact that I have an army to keep the house clean
(oh yes - EVERYBODY has chores..... hahahahahaha!!! I LOVE being a parent )

like my mom was to me - she called it "teaching me to be a responsible adult" - YEAH RIGHT! She just wanted to throw a monkey wrench into my irresponsible puberty darn it!!! (GOD I LOVE that woman...
now it's my turn to pass on what she taught me. I hope I do half as well.
Maybe not evil, but definately a full house. Sounds great. Lots of siblings.

on the subject -
want a GREAT story???
12 years old - my chore... dishes.
did I do them? no....
did she nag? no....
when I retired for the evening, the dirty, greasy, nasty dishes were where? IN MY BED!!!!
Not only did I have to do dishes, I had to change the bedclothes (inlcuding the laundry part of that) and clean the mattress (which was wet for the rest of the night)
Needless to say - my chores were done ON TIME from then on...
looking back - it's hillarious!!!! (not then though)
can't wait to use it...
It reminds me of Calvin's father in the Calvin and Hobbes strip. He would always make Calvin do chores and write it off to "building character."
Oh MAN...that is funny. Talk about effective!

*cough* Not all of us on here are young adults. *cough*
And I can't be held accountable for my behavior on the Off-Topic board. My immaturity is merely cathartic. Yeah.

trust me tiff - you're a "younger adult" than me
I'm definitely old enough to know that ANY response to that, Fredi, is the wrong one.

so true...so true!
Yeah we are. See nice conversations. I like it. That was a funny story.
So is your family still in Barbados? Is that where you are right now??

so true..
was for we're all young at heart...
no worries tiff
No worries at all. Shbrt's trying to pry my age outta me, but I've informed her that I'm not much older than she is, so I guess I can't pull out the geezer card over here.

kids Barbados..
Daddy and I are here for now
kids are due to visit the States summer '05 (IF they keep that GPA where it should be) Dudes... parents don't change
*pries Tiff*
Somehow, I'm sure your kids do very well in school

I think if Tiff doesn't want to say her age we shouldn't pry.
Don't remind me of GPA. Ahhhhhhhhhh! I'm doing okay except in Spanish which is killing me. Sort of. this is way off topic, but do foreign language teachers all seem nuts or is it just me?

indeed they do...
but not without "encouragement" from us
I've never met a kid who would'nt blow off school if he/she could...
including myself
My Latin teacher was pretty nuts. I remember one activity where we had to make Latin board games, and he would play them secretly in his spare time. I caught him in his office one time playing one of them - he tried to hide it as I walked in. Very strange man.
Of course! Everyone needs a little encouragement in that department. I'm glad to have my roommate; she guilts me into going to class sometimes
My parents would kill me if I cut class or something so there you go. But it's always good to encourage them.
I tend to think I enjoy college until it's 5 in the morning and I'm wondering why I've woken up on my desk and my computer seat's got my butt grove engraved on it now. I've abused caffeine more in the last 3 years than I ever have. (Word to the wise: Starbucks Caramel Macchiatos are a DANGEROUS substance.) And I look like a pasty albino from lack of...you know...a life?
As for my age, I'll leave y'all to guess. Shbrt knows I'm in my 20s. How about I'll divulge my age when Fredi does? It IS her thread after all.
(Counting the seconds until Fredi suddenly says she's off to bed.)

my french teacher was cool...
it was the (jr. high) math teacher that was sooooooo strange
she called us her "silly-billys" - *shudders from creepy flashback*
I still wonder if that wasn't some sort of twisted pedephelic euphamism
Yeah I think language teachers are pretty nuts. My spanish teacher screams and acts like papers are really burning hot whenever someone gets an A+ on a test.
