Ew. I hope not.
My math teacher looked just like Count Dooku from Star Wars. People would make lightsaber gestures whenever he turned his back.
ETA: Tiff, completely. Damn Starbucks.

I tend to think I enjoy college until it's 5 in the morning and I'm wondering why I've woken up on my desk and my computer seat's got my butt grove engraved on it now. I've abused caffeine more in the last 3 years than I ever have. (Word to the wise: Starbucks Caramel Macchiatos are a DANGEROUS substance.) And I look like a pasty albino from lack of...you know...a life?
THAT'S COLLEGE BABY - sounds like you're right on track
As for my age, I'll leave y'all to guess. Shbrt knows I'm in my 20s. How about I'll divulge my age when Fredi does? It IS her thread after all.
You'll be my age when that happens -

Posted: 11/27/04 at 2:09amI'm laughing at that image of Count Dooku in Star Wars. I think that was Christopher Lee who played him. Okay stupid response. lol. That made me laugh really hard that image. Thanks.

A lil bit o' Gary Sinise and Kevin Bacon ain't a bad thing. (BTW, ladies, if either of you score a guest appearance on CSI:NYC, remember that Type_A over here is your best friend, right?)
Did any of you guys go through college?

Count Douko?
Sounds like a breakfast cereal...
I actually did see most of the STARWARS current episodes... but was very disappointed - especially after Phantom Menace - wasn't that the first one?
I could live the rest of my life without ever having seen Jar-Jar Binks.

How about Tom Hanks is right. And now he's in the movie of The Da Vinci Code! And yes, Jar Jar Binks should be tortured horribly.
And Tiff, I interviewed Gary Sinise for the newspaper I used to work at. I'd be glad to hook you up if I run into him

I am totally not feelin' Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon. Love the books. Love, LOVE Tom Hanks. But not for this role.
I tried to watch the Star Wars movies a couple of months ago (I gave James Earl Jones his work visa at the airport in the summer and I was like, "You were great as...Mufasa." Yeah, really. Never seen a Star Wars movie in my life.)
Edit: Shbt, baby, now that you're bbf w/ Gary, you KNOW you've gotta give me the hook-up! (Although CSI: NYC has been a disappointment compared to the original - thank god both are better than CSI: Miami!)

the first 3 (specifically Star Wars, and Empire Strikes...)
are moments of true brilliance in filmmaking...
reviving a genre... and doing it exceptionally well..
what happened?

LOL, Tiff! You know, he probably enjoyed that, though, because he probably gets Darth Vader compliments more often. You were no doubt being original by complimenting his work as Mufasa!
Oh, totally. Gary and I are bff 143 OMGWTFLOL!!
I have to agree with Tom as Langdon. At first glance, he seems totally wrong. But who knows?? The other choices were Hugh, Russell Crowe, and George Clooney. Hugh would have been good. Too bad.
#911re: The Rent Welcome Wagon
Posted: 11/27/04 at 2:24amI totally agree, Fredi. What did happen? Lucas, I think, focused less on directing his actors and poured his soul into CGI, which gives the new films an empty feeling. It's so upsetting. And now he's updated the original trilogy on the DVD's - replacing the original actor as the ghost of Anakin with Hayden Christiansen (sp?) at the end of Return of the Jedi, etc. Ugh.

Hugh would have been lovely. I myself was envisioning Colin Firth as Langdon and Sophie Marceau as Sophie.
You know what was worse after my Mufasa comment? Was that my co-worker sitting next to me pops his head over and goes, "Sir, may I say I really enjoyed you in Driving Miss Daisy. That was a great movie." and James pauses and goes, "Thank you, son. Thank you." (in that awesome baritone rumble) and walked away.
And my mouth drops open.
Then my starstruck coworker motioned over another officer and went, "You know who Tiff just gave a visa to? The star of Driving Miss Daisy!" "Oh, Morgan Freeman?" "No, James Earl---FUHHCK."
What made it better was that Morgan had just come through the airport like a month earlier for another movie and my coworker didn't recognize him then.

Oh GODDD. And you thought you were bad! That's terrible. Props to him for being such a gentleman, though.
And me-ow. Colin Firth as Langdon. *drooling*
Fredi - they also "updated" E.T. Did you see it? For some reason, they thought it was necessary to make E.T.'s expressions more animated, remove the guns from the final flying scene and replace them with flashlights, and have E.T. LEAP THROUGH THE AIR rather than run away from the men in the beginning of the film. That was possibly the most ridiculous-looking thing I've ever seen.
LOL to Frenchie. You're much more talented than she'll ever hope to be. And a hell of a lot nicer. Good night!!

Yeah, good times at the airports. It's nice to be at the top of the totem pole for everyone, celebrity or not, who comes through immigration at the airport. It just makes bottom of the totem pole on film sets a bit harder to swallow. ("Dammit I could've kicked you out for that criminal record, bitch!")
Good night, Fredi. Yes, you are much nicer (and prettier) than Frenchie. *looking around* Does that sound like brown-nosing?

Ahh, Fredi, I love big families and hope to have one of my own someday. Do you know Anika Larsen who was a fabulous swing in Rent? She comes from an amazing big family.
Would just like to add that I think it's great that just random conversations can be held in a thread like this. It's much more enjoyable than the gushing and fawning that was going on over in the Anthony thread. Hopefully that one will calm down, too, if he comes back.
