OOOH! If there is a backstage tour or interview with JLT or Shosh, count me in the club!

yeah, i mentioned that before...harder to do...

none of these things are particularly hard to do IF the fanclub is actually approved by the WICKED people.

Back to Wicked...
I did notice that when Kristin was playing Glinda, it was as if there was no time frame. As much as I love Kristin (and believe me, i do!), I never saw her character grow. She stayed the same age throughout. Now JLT on the other hand, is where the time difference is noticeable. You see her difference of character from Act 1 to Act 2, and notice, then, that years have gone by.
Also, Madam Morrible's lyrics make no sense. She came out of her hiding...Then what? A chorus girl steps in and talks about one eye. I don't wanna know that you heard she has one eye, I want to know what happened after she came out of her hiding.

I think there's an implication that Elphaba became feared by the Ozians (via the propaganda the Wizard and Morrible most likely started). We don't need to hear what happened after she came out of hiding- that fact is already discussed at the beginning of "Thank Goodness."

Well, Mme. Morrible is lying to Oz and is talking about the scene during Sentimental Man - obviously she doesn't want people to know the Wizard invited Elphaba to his palace...then everyone would learn the secret of the Wizard...
The lines are:
Then the Wicked Witch burst from concealment
Where she had been lurking surreptitially

*nods*
Now I know this might sound stupid, but bear with me- would you says that Elphaba's vision at the end of "The Wizard and I" would count as foreshadowing her fate? Obviously, the audience knows what will happen to her, via "Wizard of Oz" and "No One Mourns..." But entertain an English major here, please.
I agree with you completely... Here are the lyrics where I totally understood what you were talking about...
A celebration throughout Oz
That's all to do with me!
And I'll stand there with the Wizard
Feeling things I've never felt
And though I'd never show it
I'll be so happy, I could melt!
And so it will be
For the rest of my life
And I'll want nothing else
Till I die
Held in such high esteem
When people see me, they will scream
For half of Oz's fav'rite team:
The Wizard
And I!
I rememeber after listening to the CD, I heard that part and I said to myself "There was a celebration throughout Oz, to do with Elphaba... and that was to do with her demise, not becuase of her popularity". It's kind of a thing you have to catch early on. Most people probably don't realize it, becuase, as you said... most already know what happens to her anyway.
It's kind of like Kate and Leopold... ever seen the movie?

Didn't see Kate & Leopald, but I understand what you're talking about. I always assumed it was complete foreshadowing.

Wow. It seems like everything happens here late at night. When I am sleeping in my little bed. I like sleep. Anyway, can I be a part of this too. I posted before but it got lost in the 6 pages of stuff. Well, not lost but I am waaaaaay behind. Plus, Bsobw, my icon should help me should it not? Like it? Lol. This thread is way cool and I love the fan club idea. Way fun.

I mean, the "I'd be so happy I could melt" is not so much foreshadowing, but more of a funny little joke.
If anything, the song is ironic foreshadowing - she does meet the Wizard and people do know who she is (foreshadowing), but not for the reasons she wants...
