The View (minus Joy)

If they pre-taped Joy Behar's last day two weeks ago, and aired it last Friday, why are there daily episodes this week labeled "New" on the channel guide, and in fact, are new...in which Joy is present?

Just wondering.

Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." --Alice in Wonderland

The episodes airing now are new but not live. Probably pre packaged stuff filmed during the year. You will notice there are no current hot topics.

I'm guessing they taped her farewell show, before her actual last day of FILMING? Airdate vs final day. I think they double up a lot of filming to give them a bit of an actual vacation in the summer where they actually go dark.

(But I was thinking the same thing.)
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Sure, that they pre-tape is no secret. They usually post 'recorded earlier' when that happens and I was even there for one, last year. But if you've going to pre-tape a week or two of shows, AND pre-tape her 'last day,' why not play her last-day tape...LAST?

Ah, well. Television.

it's weird. all their episodes this week were pre-taped. Hence why there's no "hot topics".
