So, did anyone watch this week?
I wasn't particularly impressed by the elimination procedures (judges points). It seemed kinda meaningless. Most of the judges (except Levine) just split their votes equally 50/50. So, why bother with judges picks and points when all of the fan favorites made it through to the next round?

singalongsong2, if the judges actually strategized like they were supposed to, it would have been interesting to see what they actually thought. Some of those results were within 100 points of each other. If Cee-Lo wanted Nakia in the finals, he should have given him all 100 points. If Adam wanted to guarantee Javier's position, he should have given him 100 points. Splitting it down the middle or apologizing for playing the game is boring.
The one big problem with the show is that everything the judges say is positive. There is no constructive criticism. There is only blind praise. It doesn't matter that the teenage girls have no breath support; the judges only tell them they have unique voices and will be famous. It doesn't matter when Frenchie over sings; she's just told she has lungs and great stage presence. The judges need to wake up and actually critique the contestants next season or the novelty of the format won't keep it going.

I am very happy that Jamar Rogers is getting another chance at having a music career. It really annoyed me how three years ago on 'American Idol' the judges did not put him through to the semi-finals. The judges made fools of themselves by choosing that Nick Mitchell "Norman Gentle" person, who should have been on 'Last Comic Standing' instead.

I am a fan this show, but I hve not been a fan of Usher since late November 2010. I do not think this is a great idea. Shakira, eh I don't have an opinion.

I don't really care who the judges are. I'm watching it right now and I can't believe how many really bad singers are making it through!

I remember that Alessandra girl the 17 yo from Laguardia School of the Arts) from American Idol. I didn't think she was that great. The 13 yo that was on the X-Factor- Carly- blows her away!

I didn't see tonight's episode, but don't know Alessandra as she is much younger than me.
Adriana was on last week (she sang Domino and chose Christina) and was in my class at LaG.

The thing about changing the judges that bothers me is this. If I was a contestant, and chose Christina to be my coach - I'd be sort of pissed that all of a sudden Shakira is my coach. Shakira? Really? Maybe if I'd known that I'd have picked another coach?

Sure. The judges have their first drafts of their teams, and now the battle among team members to narrow down each final team is going on. The new twist this year, once the judge decides between the two on his/her team that are battling it out, the other judges get a chance to steal the one that didn't get picked.

Early ratings estimates are saying that the show dropped sharply from last week. It had an 18-49 rating of 3.7 compared to last week's 4.4 18-49 rating. Last week, there also some drops as well. I'm a little surprised that this is happening.
