The Voice on NBC

I saw the 12 minutes preview before Leno I think it was and it sparked my interest and the judges seem to have a great dynamic. I started to just fiddle around the internet and found the Wikipedia page. I know its Wikipedia but it said that 5 contestants have already been revealed in the commercials which I assumed that. My problem isn't that they've ruined the surprise my problem is the ones they have revealed have all had careers. Here would be three of them...

Frenchie Davis: Yes, that Frenchie Davis. Previous Idol contestant.

Lukas Rossi: Previous talent show winner on CBS.

Javier Colon: Once had a contract with Capitol records.


Thoughts?

There's a girl named Nikki Dawson who will be a contestant. She went to the same high school as my kids. She was a vocal major. She's not very attractive but it seems that they may have seeked out contestants who can really sing but don't "look the part". I will check it out cuz I'm a sucker for these types of shows!

I read a review somewhere that gave it a rave and most of it was for the "coaches". It's going to be interesting to see which coach gets the star out of this thing.

Ugh, Lucas Rossi? Yuck.

I do like Frenchie though. And I love me some Adam Levine.

I do not recall any show having more promos! It has been non-stop on NBC.

I would watch anything that starred Cee Lo!

I know someone who was on a reality show, and apparently it was called a docu-reality show because it was too real to be called a reality show.

I thought it was fantastic. The best "vocal competition/reality show" out there by far. The chair thing works really well. I got really caught up in it too waiting for those chairs to spin around. I also thought the competition between the coaches to get certain talent added an interesting spin.
And Frenchie Davis being in the competition wasn't unfair. This show isn't like American Idol. It seems more to be designed for people who have been struggling in the music business for awhile. Not to discover the next "unknown" that walked off the street.

The show had an open casting call or two, but the majority of the contestants were invited by the producers to sing for the judges. So expect to see other contestants from other reality shows and even some people who have had record deals in the past.

It doesn't make a difference anyway as only one person was identified by a judge before they introduced themselves. And I don't blame Cee-Lo for not picking Frenchie when she sang that awful song and was really shaky on it. I think Christina might have known who it was, too, as she seemed really excited when she turned around.

I know of a few more of the invited contestants appearing this season and one of them "shockingly" doesn't make it. Shockingly because he did well on another reality show, screwed the pooch with his career after that show, and learned nothing from the whole ordeal about talent before attitude.
