The Dark
Adults - I thought they all were out to get me when I was about 5 or 6. Odd phase
I still loved the old Invaders even though you could see the zippers in the back of their "skin"
Th cinematography, sets & atmosphere were great. Another great one is "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"
the Karen Black version just wasn't as good......
Invasion of the BS, original...classic......but it never scared me like Invasion did
The crying Indian commercial. I can't really explain why; maybe it's the "OMG WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!" feeling it creates. Or the music. Whatever it was, I would go into hysterics whenever it came on. It still unnerves me a little...

The TV commercials with the Jolly Green Giant. I'd run out of the room covering my ears because I didn't want to hear the "ho ho ho" in that deep creepy voice.
I was also terrified by the Wicked Witch of the West.
What can I say? I was afraid of green people.
The big green Oz head growling "I am Oz, the great and terrible".
Loved the rest of the movie, but used to hide in the cushions when that part came on......
Oh my God, I totally forgot about The Wicked witch of the West. I used to run up the staircase when she came on.
"Are You Afraid of the Dark?" OMG. That was some scary sh*t. I remember watching TV and the second the creaking swings came on and that creepy music and stuff I would switch the channel in terror. Haha.

my parents being late coming home or picking me up from somewhere
Oz: the tornado, the witch's feet shrivelling up under the house, Dorothy's screaming during the flying monkeys scene
close lightning strikes
tornado warnings issued after dark because 1)you can't see the tornados coming then and 2)our warning system was old WWII air raid sirens

the first time I saw Labrinyth, when I was 5 or 6. Don't ask me why, but it gave me nightmares. Then I saw it recently and was like: "why the hell was I afraid of that?"

YES. Gotham how about Chiiiilllller. With the clay hand.
Invaders from MArs (the original) and CARNIVAL OF SOULS! the later movie scared the living crap out of me! I could not stand night windows ever since.
Anyone remember the Bette Davis film WATCHER IN THE WOODS? That was the one movie to this day to ever give me nightmares.
I haven't seen it in over 20 years and have absolutely no desire to go back and revisit it, even though I'm pretty sure it's nowhere near as terrifying as I remember it being.
