Things You Love But Have Annoying Fans (For Lack of a Better Term)

Do you ever love something but hate the fans that it attracts? Like, people who love it for the wrong reasons or do not understand the deeper purpose behind it? Here are mine:

WES ANDERSON/PAUL THOMAS ANDERSON - Their movies are awesome but some of their fans are the most hypocritical, indulgent people ever who literally spit blood at you if you dislike a movie that they hold dear. Mleh. Just gets annoying.

JOHNNY DEPP - Amazing actor who I've always admired due to his willingness to completely submerge himself into any role. Yet I hate the 13 year old girls who jumped onto the bandwagon after Pirates. Oh how I'd love for them to see Dead Man or Fear and Loathing.

FIGHT CLUB - Deppressed teenagers venting their rage against society. Do not enjoy them, I.

I agree with Wicked and RENT. Has anyone ever trekked over to IMDB's boards? SCARY!

And agreed to the Johnny Depp thing. I've been a fan since I was 7 years old, and when Pirates came out suddenly everyone was screaming "I SO WANT HIS BABIES!" (This was like...7th grade..lol)

Also, Chicago. I was always made fun of for loving the show..then the movie came out and suddenly everyone was singing the songs (out of tune COUGH) in the halls.

I read comic books ... imagine Idina-level obsessive freakiness but in regard to Superman, ignoring, of course, that he isn't, technically, real.

All of the LotR, Star Wars, Harry Potter fans who show up in costume. I love those franchises, but this is not Rocky Horror!!!

I, too, get annoyed by the junior high girls who claim that Depp is the best actor in the world, solely on Pirates....

Wicked fans. They never bothered me before, but they are starting to.

Wicked, yes... along with almost any really good book/series that's been made into a kids' movie with "hot" actors and a simplified plotline. (Harry Potter, Series of Unfortunate Events, Princess Diaries, ect.)
