Funny!
We have two cats...brother and sister, who do everything together. A few years ago, she had to have surgery and was in the hospital for days...when she got out, he made those noises...and he never meows normally! All of a sudden it was like he was posessed and was trying to talk! He didnt recognize her! She just gave him like she was saying "Jackass!" under her breath.

I have two cats, and whenever one goes to the vet alone, the other one always hisses at them like this.
Usually it's because the one that went to the vet got a bath or a flea dip and the other doesn't recognize the smell. Last time, it lasted almost a week.

Posted: 10/19/09 at 3:00pmYes, diva...it's the smell. Not only dont they smell like themselves, but they smell like the WORST PLACE ON EARTH! When he had surgery this summer we seperated them and made sure we held and pet him to get rid of the smell of the v-e-t.

I've heard that sound MANY times!
I've got news for you all - that orange tabby making all the noise is a male. He's singing a song of love to the lady on the right, who is in heat. I've had many cats in my life and the vets always said that it was healthier for the girls to go through heat at least one time before being 'fixed'. When they did, we always had a feline Frank Sinatra singing his love ballads outside the window at night.
