I concur, Nik. Can I be art director and co-star?
Ellie, define "scaled-down". I hope it's not to the level of Cats, what with its inflatable sets and cardboard junkyard! I thought Sharon and her daughter pulled out of Vagina Monologues because of some health scare? Chitty looks SH*Tty. Perhaps POTO. I've already seen it 3 times though, with Hugh Panaro, Brad Little and Howard McG, so I don't know if anyone can top that!
*sigh* I'd really like to see Billy E. or Chicago though.
Absolutely! I want to be co-star and some technical thing. One of you can pick my job.
Gofer?
Oh my lordy, ladies. I've just devoured not one but TWO 2'x2' chocolate thins. I'm going to hell.

I'm sure there'd be scalpers selling tix for Billy Elliot, you could always get a ticket that way. As a scalper yourself, you should support the black market.
Not too sure how scaled down Les Mis is, all I know is that they moved to a smaller theatre and lowered production costs by cutting some effects etc. They even drafted in Cameron Mackintosh who called it 'better than ever'. But he's a twit.
So you won't even consider Blood Brothers? When I was in London, my parents went to see it and they thought it was amazing.
Shub, I like the idea of a Bitches Theatre Company! I call being the Artistic Director! You can be the star, of course.
Tiff can make coffee.
I like being a gofer!
You're not going to hell for THAT, Tiff
True, I think past actions have secured my spot in the eleventh layer of hell, with or without eating chocolate.
Dammit, I said "art director", didn't I? I MEANT artistic director. *revokes title from Shub* She wanted to be a gofer anyway. You meant like the errand boy and not like the mammal, right?
Ellie, me? A scalper? Nuh-uh. The difference is that, uh...eh...they wear baseballs caps and smell funny. And I don't wear baseball caps. I'll look up Billy Elliot on ebay though. Have you seen my auction recently? It's up to C$322!
By the way, do you ladies feel like giving me some input on my website essay? Hmm? It's due in 8 hours and I haven't touched it. For starters, tell me:
1) How has the Net changed the way you communicate with people in your real life? Do you feel enslaved to it, or is it your tool?
2) Have you created any online friendships? If so, how satisfied to you feel about the quality of the friendship, in tersm of intensity and "realism"?
3) What is the appeal in having online friendships? Have you found this hindering your satisfaction with your real life friendships?

*ahem*
You could at least acknowledge my Blood Brothers suggestion! 'Tis fab! Of course I haven't seen it, and I don't know what I'm talking about, but trust me - 'tis great!
$322? Is that good?
Do I really want to see a play in London though? I mean, no disrespect to straight plays, but I *heart* musicals!
There, consider your idea acknowledged. Even though it was crappy. But I suppose better Blood Brothers than Lion King!
And considering that the face value of the tickets was $214, $322 seems alright, until you consider the 5% eBay fee, plus $6 posting fee, plus 4.9% PayPal fee that'll be tacked onto that. And then it doesn't seem that great.

Blood Brothers is a musical, eejit.
Ooops, just noticed your little question! I will give it due thought and get back to you...
*goes off to make a sandwich*
Really? It's a musical? With such a BORING name? What's the plot? I couldn't be bothered to look it up.
Gee, thanks for at least acknowledging the question! Unlike SOME people who's conveniently disappeared now. Not mentioning Shub or Middy's names. *coughNikcoughAlexcoughcough*

Edit - it doesn't work.
But search under 'Blood Brothers' on the main board, and you'll get it!

1) How has the Net changed the way you communicate with people in your real life? Besides the occasional desire to say "LOL" instead of laughing, the internet really hasn't changed my communication skills much.
2) Have you created any online friendships? If so, how satisfied to you feel about the quality of the friendship, in tersm of intensity and "realism"? I have, and I'm very happy with them. I've made very close friends with whom I share everything.
3) What is the appeal in having online friendships? Have you found this hindering your satisfaction with your real life friendships? Not at all. Online friends are friends just as people I actually see every day are friends. There really is no difference.
Sorry, Tiff. I got distracted by Penn and Teller's Bullsh*t.

Thank you, Nik! *crosses off of SH*T list*
Do you think there's something about your personality or situation in life that's caused you to find online friendships? Do you seek these friendships or do they just happen? Reason I'm asking is because I read some abstracts yesterday that said that people with online friendships tend to be depressed, isolated individuals with weak social bonds in real life. I don't think I agree with that - at least in my case - but then again, I'm spectacular, fabulous and well-adjusted. And then there's you guys.
No, I have plenty of real life friends as well :) And online friendships just happen.

1) Has the net changed the way you communicate with people in your real life?
Not really, I have to say. I think I'm mature and stable enough to handle an hour on the internet without turning into an anti-social freakazoid. Ok...so maybe a tad more than hour, but I'm still stable and my communication skills rock!
2)Have you created any online friendships? If so, how satisfied do you feel about the quality of the friendship, in terms of intensity and "realism"?
Well, yes...I've 'met' some fabulous people, whose 'company' I enjoy very much. It's hard to share a 'real' relationship over the internet, but I'm sure if I met any of these people in 'real life', I would have a fab time and cement our friendship. Of course for all I know, I could be conversing with a 69 year-old monk in the Himalayas, a sex-offender currently serving out his time in solitary confinement, or a bunch of raving Charles Manson-followers.
3) What is the appeal of having online friendships? Have you found this hindering your real life frienships?
Not in the slightest. Mostly because I have no real-life friends. Nah, of course I do! *rocks gently* It hasn't been a problem at all, although sometimes I chat more to my online buds than to my real-life friends. But that's neither here nor there.
I'm sure that will help you fill up your essay! Er, no I'm not. But if you have any more questions or want expanded answers to those ones, feel free to ask! Just don't ask me...
Edit - damn my incompetence!

1) How has the Net changed the way you communicate with people in your real life? Do you feel enslaved to it, or is it your tool?
It certainly hasn't made friendships easier, but it has made revealing some difficult things easier. However, I have gotten into many fights with friends after one of us has misconstrued something the other has said, as a result of the impersonal quality of the internet.
2) Have you created any online friendships? If so, how satisfied to you feel about the quality of the friendship, in terms of intensity and "realism"?
Think BWW. Love you guys!
3) What is the appeal in having online friendships? Have you found this hindering your satisfaction with your real life friendships?
Of course not. But it makes me want to go to NY. It makes me want that very badly...
You're welcome, Tiffany...
