Get this, Rath...king crab tempura...just reading the description, I was salivating like a Pavlov dog.
Oh, and Bolzano's hung up on me.
Edit: Oops, just got through. Dinner on Sundays is from 5-11. Are we cutting it close if we leave Luxia at 9 and get to Bolzano by 9:30?
Hear that, Ellie? We can't go to a place that would hang up on Tiff.
Nobu it is!!!
Don't worry, Ellie, we won't let the (dead) fish hurt you.
...just the live one.
*opens legs*
Their dinner times wouldn't really work with our schedule anyway, would it Rath?
Oh, and check out the NY Metro reviews on Nobu 1, 2 and 3!
http://nymetro.com/search/restaurants_search.htm?nameterms=nobu&cui=-&loc=-&pr=-&rspec=-
Edit: TriBeCa Nobu finishes dinner at 10:15; Next Door Nobu at 11. Which is the same as Bolzano's, but I think we can accomodate in order to get the Nobu experience?
Kissy, your thoughts on Next Door Nobu? Less expensive yet equal quality to the others?
Mmm! Are the menus, though? And any thoughts on Tabla?
Go for the Bread Bar downstairs at Tabla instead. You can order a la carte that way. Tabla (and the Bread Bar) is quite yum. But if you like Indian accented food, though it certainly cannot qualify as Indian fusion....
Mmm, I do enjoy Indian food a lot. I don't think Mabel does. Perhaps I'll try it by myself! Do you have a preferred pizza joint? People keep telling me John's is worth while. Oh, and I know I've asked you this a million times, but once more for the record - good Cantonese and Shanghai dim sum? It's a must.
Rathiekins, did you want to make the reservation for Next Door Nobu? http://www.myriadrestaurantgroup.com/nobu/index.html
(You know, we really didn't plan our eating schedule very well, geographically speaking. We're hopping from Spring Street, to midtown, back down to Tribeca! Lots of subbing and cabbing for us!)
I'm supposed to be making reservations? But we haven't heard from everyone yet...
When are you planning on Tabla? A different day, I assume...I don't have to do anything there, right?
When does Ellie usually show her clown face around here evenings?
I think my box of Playbills has been misplaced, possibly thrown out, and if that's the case, I'm going totally apeSH*T. Just sayin'.
Tabla's a different day. Don't worry about it. Next Door Nobu will probably be you, me, Nik, Nic, Siv and Ellie, assuming Nik and Ellie find things they like on the menu first. I know that Nic and Siv love their sushi.
When did I get switched to Nik w/ a K?!?!?
Anyway, I'm fine w/ Nobu on Sunday. Not a huge sushi fan, but I'm sure I'll find something that will suit my delicate palate.
I'm not making a reservation and getting all excited about Nobu until we know there are no dissenters.
edit: Thanks for your open-mindedness, mabel. Now we're just waiting for Clown Face.
Can both of our shared enthusiasm (plus Nik and Siv's in-absentia-but-in-spirit enthusiasm) make up for the less-thans?
(And, dorkus - yes, dorkus - you weren't made into Nik with a k - that would be Nikki, a la ShbrtAlley44. You're still the dweeb with a 'c', listed right after her.)
Chuckles should be making her entrance in the next hour or so.

Moi? Dorkus??? I think not!
assuming Nik and Ellie find things they like on the menu first. I know that Nic and Siv love their sushi.
I rest my case.
You're confusing the old woman here - mabel, you do or do not like sushi?
*blinks*
I was just testing you.
Yeesh, you gullible city girls...
Where is Chuckles, anyway?
And Nic, is there anything on the menu that meets your fancy? I'm sure somewhere on there, they offer chicken teriyaki!
You yourself said Clownface would make her appearance within the hour. Hasn't been the hour yet. Reeelax. Eat some carbs.
For the time being, I'm all about the scallops. I love me some scallops and haven't had any for ages! And then tempura is always a good thing, so no worries!
Oh, sure...you can say you're an old woman, but I can't call you Nana?
And Nic (Mabel) is the one who doesn't like sushi - Nik (Nikki - ShbrtAlley44) appreciates her sushi, as does Sivon, you and me. It's just those two uncultured freakazois, Nic and Ellie, who don't appreciate some good salmon sashimi.
BRB - dinner. And they've made lasagna, except my portion will substitute pasta with cabbage.
Okay, so my earlier comment to mabel stands.
Just waiting for ELLIE AS USUAL!!!!
I can't help it...I'm from New Hampshire. I'm bound to be an uncultured freakazoid about something...and for me, I suppose it's food. *shrug*
