We'd expect nothing less!

Tiff will be wearing pearls too. But nothing else.
So I suppose we might see a bit of pink from her too.
And I worry about being a bad influence.
What kind of a happy hour is this, anyway?
And...last year at Christmas I went for lunch to Payard. We wore hats and gloves. We were the ladies who lunch. It was quite festive.
Whatdya mean what kind of happy hour is this? It's the most fabulous of sorts, with people from all over the continent in attendance! (And Ellie, too, but we've got a kennel for her.)
How was lunch at Payard? The menu looks good albeit not too extensive.
And Ellie...just...I got nothin'.
Oh my.
I've had dessert at Payard's two Christmases ago. It was divine...
I had their chocolates and it was simply to die for. I can't even fathom how their pastries and desserts are! (What did you guys have when you were there?)
Tiff, you will love the pastries.
I haven't been there in a while. I may have to add that to my weekend agenda...
Or you guys can surprise me with a Louvre cake at BWW HH! (It's the one I've been eyeing since March!)
Tiff...that would be fun!
I have been eyeing a cake from Vosges:
The Daisy Cake:
Completely encased in white chocolate resides four layers of rose petal and Tahitian vanilla bean pound cake layered between a pink champagne, white chocolate ganache and two layers of fresh strawberry, rose water mousse. Stands 4 inches tall and serves 2-3 people.
One of these days I'll figure out an excuse to buy it for myself. Maybe the next time it rains.
On my list of bakeries are Billy's and Payard. I was thinking Magnolia, but your review of it changed my mind, plus that NY Metro article on the ridiculous wait times today. (They said the average customer had to wait 25 minutes for a cupcake, and it wasn't "worth it", even if it was "the last cupcake on earth." Ouch.)
Well, the wait time is considerably less if you go on a weekday. The cakes are yummy, but the attitudes you get from the shop people are NOT!
Buttercup Bake Shop...
Pretty and delicious cupcakes.
I've been to a couple of Alice Ripley concerts where she brought cupcakes from Billy's and I agree, they were very dry. I was less than impressed.
Okay, Billy's is off the list then. Tell me more about Vosges and Buttercup?
(My, if I'd known we were getting the non-regulars onto this thread tonight, I would've tidied the place up!*)
Undi, are you coming to HH?
* Or, better yet, gotten Ellie or Rath to do it.
You must certainly try, Undi! We're getting quite the eclectic and fantastic mix on 10/9!
What board were you on? Was it broadway.com or Jill Knox's Aida board?

have i missed anything terribly interesting?
Just the new visitors, and me trying to get Undi to come out for BWW HH! We've got quite the diverse group!
Ahh, no way! I still pop on there once every few weeks with the odd hope that something new will come up! Those were good times. I know Emcee posted there under a different name...bella cantato posts here as well...too bad it all had to end!
I haven't kept in touch with anyone except for Em (who I actually met on here, and then realized she was also posting on there) - those silly arguments were a gas! The name-dropping and "history" between posters was so petty and humorous!
Do try to make it to HH! We can reminisce about Aida and get a bit sauced while we're doing it!
(And make sure you RSVP to Rath by Wednesday if you can come at 6pm, or stop by later!)
A quick peek to say hi to Ms. Tiff... so excited about next week!!!
Now back to working...
