Yep.
I would think it might be helpful in getting into a college - just as an extracirc. activity. And today, colleges are so competitive, it can't hurt.
In a personal statement for law school, it could show a long-term desire to be a lawyer.
Man, am I glad those days are over.
Off to feed the cats. Stoli is howling for food again.
Big fat grey pig that he is.
Will be in and out tonight. Trying to get this app done before the east coast airing of SNL starts.
I guess quite a lot of schools do it, half decent public schools on up. I can't really say if it's taken seriously by all because generally when it gets down, closer to the state wide rounds the bulk of public schools get kicked out...and NYC schools in general don't seem to pull through. I do know that in some schools the competition is in coordination with a class that a student is taking, but at my school it's strictly an extracurricular. I guess the extent of how much the law firm you're with is willing to do for is another factor. Our lawyers just basically proof read and run practice sessions, they don't actually help us write anything...nor do they make us present the case based on their ideas...since there are usually multiple ways to go about it...
I do know that this year, everything is more structured, so maybe we'll advance further, who knows...people are actually doing their work, except for our favorite senior, who is visiting colleges? Why he is is beyond me, because I would have sworn apps are in by now...I mean, a couple of people already got in ED. Coluuuumbiiiia! <333 The lawyers at the firm were like "Why are you even here?" Yeeeaa...it's a nice smack on your personal statement I guess. Then again, I don't think any of the academic teams at my school are taken all that seriously...we just somehow luck out because the people at my school are usually intelligent in comparison to other city school kids, which isn't saying that much on a national scale.
No, I don't think this would be helpful for law school at all...colleges, sure...
Go fill out that app, TIFF!

Any of you ladies going to watch the game tomorrow?
It is awfully quiet on the board tonight.
Moderator overload seems to have taken its toll.
The Super Wha?
I'll probably catch some of the game since my Dad'll be watching. Will make an effort to watch the half-time show. Who's performing?
Really Old Farts, even by my standards.
The Rolling Stones.
Beer Run.
Ha! The Rolling Seniles?
Is that it? Aren't there normally a few bands, or were the geris enough to be It?
There are some others, but that show is even tamer than this board. which I thought was impossible.
Tame? This board?! What are you ON?
Lithium, with a side of prozac - Board Moderators orders.
Are we allowed to discuss implied drug dependency, or is it only s*xual references that are taboo?
Dunno - but legal, prescribed drugs - that is half of America's social and sleep scene.
A pox on all their houses I tell you, a pox.
Ugh. Finally Aunt Flo came to visit. About time! Who are you rooting for tomorrow? Seahawks, since they're on your coast?
I have no idea what is going on. I went to a show and come back and the board seems different somehow.
I am going to watch the game (Nah, just the commercials) tomorrow night. I am getting up early and hitting Arthur Avenue before I head back to Jersey. Gotta get some munchies before going home.
I seriously thought this thread had been deleted when I had to scroll to the second page to find it . . .
Nope...we're still very allliiive.
The superbowl, ewww.
If not for the proximity of Seattle to Vancouver, I wouldn't care. As it is, I probably won't even watch the thing, just maybe the half-time show...if there's nothing better to do. Like clip my toenails...
Well this is coming from someone that doesn't understand football at all (freaks in too much padding)...I just like watching people punt, and I'm like yeeeeah soccer skills!!! (Except you never want that to happen during the game since that would just be slightly above the goal, and that's always a pain the the ass during games.)
I think you mean p*nt.
All I recognize are padded guys tackling each other and then slapping their team on the *ss. That's why I watch - and even that can't sustain my attention for long.
What's with the asterisks?
Rainbows, kitties, and hearts make me happy.
Hrrrm...what on BWW is censored then?

Marlene, I really do not want this thread deleted.
Please edit your post.
What did I miss?
Marlene, do NOT get this thread deleted - if you need to get your cussin' rocks off, go onto Rath's thread.
---Ooooooh.---
There's a reason the discussions have been so tame, young lady! Now wash your mouth out with soap and go read a book or play with your iPlaybox Cube 360 or whatever you kids are up to these days!
Thank you Marlene.
These days, I have no idea what is going to trigger the inconsistent and totally unrealisable and subjective wrath of the BWW.com delete button.
If the word 'ege can do it, just about anything can.
Metaphors and anaologies are now your friend.
Well I gotta tell you, I've eaten so much in the last few days, coupled with absolutely no physical exertion, that the 'age is now over my waistline and hanging out with my knees.
