Tiff , CAM, princesses all!

Today I had the FASTEST tech rehearsal EVER..
then the sweetest dress rehearsal..

I realize it's only a one act, but WOW, I'm stoked.. "The Pack" at Driftwood (Wade James Theatre) in Edmonds, WA begins tomorrow and I'm ready!

I think I'll see DD tonight! Somewhere in town Cheezdoodle is hanging out later after the Imperial Coronation at the Mountaineers Club on Lower Queen Anne (Seattle)... do you think we'll see him/her out and not even know it?

I'm going to preface this by saying a few things.

1. Marlene, you know I like you even though you can't sing 'Tomorrow' worth crap.
2. Me constantly telling you to post 3 meaningful things wasn't a way of saying I don't like banal topics on B*tches - have you SEEN this thread? It IS contained banality!
3. The reason I kept asking you to post something worthwhile is because when we're trying to have a serious (not necessarily 'deep', but a genuine) conversation and you constantly insist on interjecting with nonsense when it's not the right time - it makes us wonder if there's any substance to you or if you're seriously a spoiled daddy's girl with nothing to offer.
4. We're not asking you to seek validation from us - if you've already got a healthy or more-than-healthy ego and you're so confident in yourself, that's fine. And if your purpose for coming onto this board is to blow off steam and not be forced to offer any intelligent contribution on threads that are at least trying to have a shred of sincerity to them, then that's your prerogative. But you can't have it both ways - either you've misread the dynamic of the thread or you're trying to be a troll.

Having said that, I was pretty damn well fuming at your first paragraph. But I'm grateful that you put some thought into the following questions, and while I don't agree with your viewpoints on some things, I'm just glad to see that there's a person behind the username, and not just some shallow pain-in-the-ass.

down the river styx. from Marlene
on 2/18/06 @ 02:56:58 PM

Any why I pray you, who might be you mother? That you insult, exalt all at once over the wretch? What though you have not beauty as by my faith, I see no more in you than without candle may go dark to bed.

Rise and shine Tiff. I was tempted to post (the following), but it all registered in my head. What is the ****ing point? Why did I waste my ****ing time? But since your interested, or at least I?ll presume you are?you get the fruits of my incoherent labor from about 12 hours ago. What it comes down to is, if it?s just a common consensus that you all do not condone by often banal banter on the thread, just let me know. I don?t really have the need to be some place where I am not needed, wanted, or am taken with the least bit of reverence. My time and energy can easily be used towards other more meaningful and/or meaningless places. But I am sending you this PM purely because I feel the need for someone to read what I what wrote, and in during my half awake typing I think I vaguely tried to have you and one other person in mind as an audience for my piece. And for the record, as ego centric and narcissistic as you may find it, I whole-heartedly believe that I am special, and different from anyone else with my years and life experience, and the gold claps that I?ve already received are more than enough to fuel my ego. (Disregard the type-o?s and grammar?even though I know you probably will not be able to, but to proof read what I just wrote would just be hypocritical, as with every additional word I type in this post.)

Well here it goes. Hi, I?m Marlene, I?m a Junior, and I will be doing an original piece written by me, entitled ?A Correspondence to Tiff?.

February 18, 2006, 2:27 am, EST. (Hulllloooo RENT-ness)

Oh what fun, all the topics I?m not supposed to write about for college applications. I?m tempted to answer these questions now, but I?m trying to figure out if 5 hours of sleep, and being up since 6 am constitutes to my brain lag. *end of flouncyness* (The beginning of repressing. To be completely and utterly honest, this is really hard.) Mind you Tiff, I should be filling out something very much like this, minus my views on the war for my college advisor?

Who is your political role model and why? If you don't have a political role model, why is that? I don?t have a political role model?mainly because I do not follow politics as well as one ideally should, so to randomly pull someone out of the framework that I?m not fully aware of their platform as well as to a certain degree, their moral beliefs (if permitting) is pointless. (But I will once Election Simulation comes and bites me in the behind, Senior year.) To add, I additionally have very conflicting beliefs that often times lead my support and trust for an individual astray. If I truly cared to answer the question to the best of my ability (for the intentions of sounding book smart or what not), but not totally truthfully, I would just haphazardly pull someone out from history, and blast you with factual info and turn this into a nice AP US History essay. On the other hand, the term politician just brings to my mind someone I need to hold under complete and utter scrutiny. I also abhor defining whom my role model(s) is/are, much less a political one. I try to be my own driving force that is in many respects existentialist in nature, yet not.

What do you think is the biggest problem in the American legal system? Let?s just bring this down to the biggest problem that Marlene is aware of and is able to comprehend. I feel as I am going to be lost in narrowing down one aspect and placing it as the most important factor. I?m kicking myself for now taking Law Seminar as my elective (got to love my 2 Romance languages, and it?s lovely root). Hrrrrrm. I should really just delete this part, but I figure to hell with it. I?m in the mood for stream of consciousness business.

Interpretation of the law. Yes, that is a really flawed answer, since it is basically what the judicial branch of our government (or should I say the US gov?t for Tiff?s sake) does. I always had this idealistic view of blind justice, of the great balancing scale, but in the very merits of our system, I find flaws. The very aspects of the system that are the consecration of the great strides the country has made are also our blunders. The degree of corrupt, though not true corruption, this whole ?fair trail? thing doesn?t sit well on my stomach?nothing is fair, life isn?t fair. So the very aspects that give us the ?fair trial? are what also set this gap between the knowledge and economic differences in society. Morally in my head, this all doesn?t register?but that?s yet another aspect I dislike, how politicians and leaders of all sorts like to run their campaigns based on morals. (Can we just strike this question off the record? I don?t quite like it. I think my lack of hard knowledge at my fingertips impairs me from making up some philosophically trite argument that I spent all of English class arguing several hours ago.)

Current pop culture. Pop culture, I?m not a maven, but I do embrace aspects of it. I think it has more to do with the running satire in my head, that I tend to adopt certain elements into my live for comic relief, but they unfortunately work their way into my subconscious framework. I mean to some extent pop culture is going to become a part of history, I don?t see it being a great as say previous movements and attributes in history that to an extent ?revolutionized? our world today (as cliché as that sounds)?but as with everything it will have an impact if for better or for worse. But on another extent, I do feel that I am somehow vastly driven on pop culture and the whole concept of the entitlement generation even as I try hard as I will, to deviate from it.

Iraq - a country in turmoil, or a cute four-letter term that, phonetically, could be referring to your breasts? Let?s not talk about that, hrm, the latter does not seem all that appealing either, but I could try to weasel my way out. I know I have not really made some sort of wonderfully valid statement yet. Iraq. Iraq. Iraq. I find it really hard to believe that the Bush administration knows what right for the country. I don?t whole hardly believe that the administration took action for the good of the country, but also as an act of revenge, economic greed, and that need to play the big brother. It just goes back way back when to colonization by Great Britain and France?those messed up borders, creating more religious, cultural tension and animosity than the world really needs, or that I really care to read about. (To be honest, I don?t read ?real news? on a feverous, ongoing basis; it depresses me. Certain sections of the Times keep me happy, so I stick to those?though honestly frustrating, living in a degree of ignorance keeps my sanity.) I?m not in the mood to talk about my rack.

People who've inspired you. My mother (for all the reasons I hate to admit, for all those cliché reasons, along with all those extenuating circumstances), Claude Monet, Andrew Carnegie, and Marlene. Why only four? My inspiration comes from so many sources that to channel it all to 4 individuals is just unrealistic for me. 4 = death. Not that I personally believe that whole linguistic ideology but it was just an interesting point someone brought up in calc two days ago, when the answer to all the limit problems were 4. (To my utter dismay the answer was not a breathy ?The limit does not exist!? à la mean girls.)

You're not a total dolt, Marlene! *applause* Doesn't that mean anything to you??

Jane2, I'd love to! Not tonight though - as pathetic as this is, I may just "rest my eyes for 5 minutes" and then let it extend to the rest of the night. I'm at 18.5 hours awake and my eyelids are heavy...too bad too because Crash is on the digital cable tonight.

The wine is working just fine for me tonight.

I have to do breakfast with my older sister, who is in town from NJ, tomorrow morning, so I am not long for the night.

Crash is pretty interesting. I liked it a lot. Even though it was obvious and hit you over the head like a brick, I thought it had some accurate observations.
