I'm watching tv. My phone starts ringing. On my tv screen, an icon of a telephone receiver appears, along with the telephone number of who's calling! I didn't even have to answer it! YAY. I hope this happens with every call I get.
Comcast offers that, too. It's nice. You have to have cable & phone from them for it to work.

My parents just switched over to Time Warner in their new house since AT&T doesn't offer the U-Verse service that they previously had in the area where they are now. My mom is enthralled with the onscreen caller ID.
We have Comcast phone and TV (as well as Internet), but I don't recall that happening. We do have caller ID, though, on the phone. I'll have to double check. Is there some extra fee for the TV caller ID?
Like madbrian said, Comcast does this as well. It started automatically for our service a few months ago.

It could depend on how long you've had the service. Sometimes new features don't get grandfathered into older packages as quickly as you would think they should.
Then I'm a little confused. Today was the first time I noticed it, and I've had phone, tv, and internet service from them for a long time.
Maybe this was a ploy to get me to love it, and then call to look into it, and then pay more to add the feature! LOL, I'm so good at concocting scenarios!
We recently got Comcast (couple of weeks ago) for Internet and phone. We've had their cable TV for a while, I believe.
I just called Time Warner. The service is free with the package of tv, phone, and internet. I guess I never noticed it before.
I had phone, cable TV and internet from Time Warner for a couple of years...and didn't have on screen caller ID until I requested an upgraded DVR/cablebox. It then appeared. I think it has to do with the hardware that your using.
oh Jane, just wait until it starts making you dinner and feeding the bird. You haven't begun to experience all the perks yet.
LOL Taz. When it goes to my job, I'll first appreciate it!
I just noticed that with Comcast. It's so bizarre. The feature just started about 10 days ago.

DishNetwork has it too. We don't use it & I have no idea why we even have a home phone. No one uses and is rarely even plugged in.
I have the triple play but they did not offer that to me. Seems you need an HD TV and my set is from the Flintstone's era.
Optimum offers this as well.

Yea, it got a new special feature when they switched to digital.
It's actually very useful.
The only reason I have TV at all is for ONSTAGE. If that went off the air I would cancel cable and just watch movies on my computer. I am also a fan of DROP DEAD DIVA. Brooke is a theater gal after all!
I HATE the new Time Warner interface. I had my DVR box for years and I think the functions were just perfect, then they had to go and mess it up. Oh well.
