I love me some Sam.

Posted: 5/14/08 at 3:52pmI thought Sam was a jerk, nitsua. Katie Lee Joel is Billy Joel's wife and hosted the first season. She was a huge bore.

Sam was a jerk, but he's a nice looking jerk.
I totally forgot about Katie Lee Joel, then, because I remember Chef Tom and Gail Simmons.
I do remember the guy who got booted off during the pilot, though.
Weird.

Yeah. He stuck his finger in the sauce, and then tasted it.
There's nothing wrong with that, if you're cooking it for yourself.

Posted: 5/14/08 at 4:25pmBilly Joel's wife sucked...I hated Sam, and thought he looked greasy...ick! That irish guy was an ahole. He wasnt just kicked off because of his finger lickin', it was his attitude about it and arguing with Colicchio (who is also an ass.)

Nitsua,
Make sure you watch tonight. Sam is the quickfire elimination judge.

Has Sam had a little face work? The final decision was CORRECT! Mrs. Brd thought that the other would go.
Some pretty stupid food tonight for Chicago's blue!

Not only was Sam a jerk, but his personality was so DRAB. He could cook and he was great looking, but that's it.
My favorite contestants were Harold, Dale and, especially, "I'm not your bitch, bitch!" Dave!

Posted: 5/29/08 at 10:04amThey should have taken Lisa with him for good measure. She is such a whiny, negative person. And so damn defensive when being judged. Arms crossed, chin out... makes me wish that she goes home. And, I don't think she is that great of a cook.
#119re: Top Chef Chicago
Posted: 5/29/08 at 10:17amI totally agree, YWIW. But, I'm happy with three of the top four. And I love that it's three women and a man. Girl power!

Antonia.
Love. Her!!!

Ditto, Deetie!!! The fact that Spike said he wanted Antonia to go over Lisa speaks volumes about the kind of idiot he is.

I actually love both Stephanie and Antonia - and Richard seems pretty decent as well.
No real villain there - except Lisa. If they find a way to put her into the final two (or three) you know it is only for ratings.
Antonia really came into her own with the family style theme, and working with the kids.
Stephanie seems to be near or at the top almost all of the time, and is remarkable calm and even tempered. That seems to have impressed them.
I actually think Dale was pretty talented, but too much attitude.
Anyone but Lisa, and I will be happy.
And Spike - you knew his days were numbered when he decided to take the ingredients for the cop challenge and not use them - just to screw with the others. He is not someone I would want to work with on a team (neither is Lisa).
Antonia, Richard and Stephanie - they are all people who seem to be fundamentally decent folks who just love to cook.

I know, SOMMS! I couldn't believe it when Spike said that - what an insecure ass - I would have gotten rid of him weeks ago. But I suppose his (and Dale's & Lisa's) attitude was good for ratings...

Spike was an ahole...another one who needs to be introduced to soap!
I said when they were lining up for judging "Lisa, dont cross your arms and make your bullfrog face!" She clearly couldnt hear me. She's gone next, to be sure...the rest are so much better than her. It was interesting that Lisa had been in the bottom 5 times and Spike 7...
YWIW, when you mentioned Dale's attitude, I thought you meant last season's Dale (how quickly I forget who was kicked off last week!) I thought, "who was sweeter than Dale?"
