Just had to chime in (however late)...Oh Ellie! For the love of god...NO MORE CELINE!!! That quirky Quebecoise is just too much for me! Bring back Billie, I say!
And Tiff, just when we thought all the ticket buying drama was over...I'd say "keep us posted," but really! How unnecessary would that be?!?!?
I say bring back Bono. I'd be satisfied with Billie, though.
Basically, anything but Celine!!! Please!

Anyone tried her new fragrance yet?

I'm off, I have class now...thanks for leaving me with that captivating image in my mind. *bangs head against wall*
I'm running too late to come up w/ some witticism about Celine and her mondo bottle of eau de toilette.
Off to class, and Celine better be gone when I come back!

I have class now too.
But rest assured, I shall be back with more Celine than ever before!!
*laughs maniacally*
Ooooh goodie...can't wait...*rolls eyes*
Off to eat lunch and watch the Greenday Storytellers!
I love how Mabel's the one who said 2 hours ago that she was heading offline, yet she's still here and Ellie is not.
And Ellie, keep posting the Celine pics. It'll just secure mabels and #1's loyalty to me.
What can I say, I'm always kicking around! I did actually leave for a while...too bad I only caught the last 15-20 min. of Storytellers. It looked pretty good (oh well, VH1 replays everything 100 times anyway!)
Found this link ealier on atU2 w/ a bunch of pix from behind the stage...there are some decent-ish ones towards the end. It doesn't look so bad.
Pix from behind the stage...
Whee! I think those photos are from the same person I was trying to link yesterday - otherwise it's almost at the exact same angle I was trying to tell you about. It looks pretty good huh? I still don't know how things will be with the curtain of lights, but since we're on the side corner, we may not have the worry about that as much!
LV's been posted on TM, I think. Haven't checked for sure yet, but that's the word on the street. Oh, and Mabel, is it only me or is "bonoed" a stick-up-the-ass with no sense of humor?
Yeah, they look pretty good, I think! I was reading a review somewhere from someone behind the stage, and he said that it was absolutely the best deal for the money (I'm assuming he was just knocking GAs out of that equation, since the changes of picking up GAs at face are slim to none). I'm also not so sure about the light curtains, but I don't think they're down all that much (growupgroupie????)
Is "bonoed" on interference or something? Honestly, whenever I scan around on there, I never really pay attention to the screennames, since I don't post.
Oh, oh, oh!!! I just had a brainchild! I was listening to U2's "historic" concert at Red Rocks, CO while I was home over spring break (one of the many I've yet to convert to CD...*sigh* summer project!) and I remember Bono mentioning how much he'd "appreciate whoever pinched his suitcase to return it." Just looked at U2tours.com and low and behold, they had a concerts in Vancouver, Seattle, and Portland just days before. I find it humorous that he specifically referred to it as being pinched, not forgotten/lost!
*sulking, because I just got an e-mail notifying me that my name was not drawn in the lotto for 20 $5 tix to see Spamalot*
They email you personally to tell you that you lost? Cushy!
Yeah, Groupie, how were the seats? I'm such a loser, I'm actually getting excited at the prospect of going to LV, even though that's so not going to happen ever. He mentions his suitcase?? See now, that's cool. I can't believe he passed it off as being stolen. I suppose he never realized it was just him being senile (Love ya still!) and forgetting it!
"bonoed" is on Interference, on the LV thread. He was the one who mentioned something about attending the Josh Groban concert at MGM, and someone said "I wouldn't brag about seeing Josh Groban *wink*" and bonoed went all defensive on his ass, like "Clearly I have a more open-mind than you." and then someone else said something humorous to him with another happy face icon, and "bonoed" was AGAIN all "Go pick on someone else!" Sorry. It's not even such a big deal. It just seriously reminded me of Chris from The Apprentice. Anger. Management.
Well, it wasn't like I got an email that said "Dear (mabel), we regret to inform you that you were not one of the chosen ones to enjoy an insanely discounted night out at the sold out theatre event of the season." It was just sent out to everyone on the listserve w/ the list of winners. I alas, was not one of them.
I know I'll sound hypocritical (since I have a tendency to drone on and on with posts of epic proportions, but...) I scanned through that LV post, and I just couldn't read that "bonoed" guy/girl's posts. They were too friggen long! S/he did come off as needing a bit of a kick in the ass though! Geez, lighten up buddy!
And yep, according to Bono, the suitcase was "pinched," not lost, misplaced, forgetten, among the missing, etc, etc, etc. *shakes head* Silly Bono.
maaaaabel...darling...sweetie pie...
Where are we going for dinner on October 8/10? Can it be some place with carbs? (Seriously on a one track mind right now.)
Tiff, love, I'm as excited as the next girl for our jaunt in October, but really...planning restaurants?!?!?! With that being said, we can eat all the carbs you want! Pizza, pasta, fries...you name it, you got it!
Is it really going that bad?!?! What are you on, day 3? Wish I had some genius filling non-carb options to toss at you, but I dunno...guess that's why so many Atkinites go the pound of bacon, 10 bunless burgers route...
Hey girls....
I am totally illin' with a yucky flu, so I'm sorry I haven't posted more scoop on last Wednesday's show. Our friends who sat right behind the stage (3rd row loge 7, RIGHT behind Larry) said the seats were great....we "dropped them off" before we walked up to ours (Terrace 1) and saw that the vantage point seemed good. I will have to ask how much they could see through the curtains (which were SO cool--like those sort of 70s beaded curtains in your wacky friend's mom's kitchen or something) but they came up and down a lot, so they could probably see a lot even if they couldn't see through them. Plus they were probably 15 feet from Larry.
Ummm...I think Tiff mentioned the Bono off key thing? I wrote about that in my post-concert post back FIVE MILLION pages ago (some people have been BUSY!) but that was at the beginning of 40 at "our" show and I thought it was totally endearing and human and I dug it.
That suitcase drama is insane--the story was ALWAYS that it had been stolen, and I guess Bono just liked the drama?
My head is like 3 miles thick so I have to be lame and go now....but PROMISE PROMISE to write more about the show (which we're still talking about--it was THAT good!!)
Loving the Celine. (And your avatar is scaring me, Ellie!) My favorite era (aside from the really early please-pluck-your-eyebrows-beauty&thebeast-early stuff) is the TERRIBLE short hair circa "because you loved me". No 80 pound scarecrow should ever have hair so moth-eaten. OOH, if I knew how to post a pic, I'd totally put up the one of her in the awful backwards white pimp-suit at the oscars a few years back
Mabel, sorry about the game But I do love the doggy/kitty default avatar.
Tiff, not sure if you guys will be seeking carbs near MSG or elsewhere, but I'm a huge fan of Lombardi's in Little Italy. AMAZING pizza. And cheap. If you want to stay closer to midtown...there is so much good stuff over on 9th ave in the 40s:)
Oh, and as the resident geriatric, I have to say there's something kind of sexy about Adam's salt and pepper hair. (Not as sexy as the other dudes, really, but I love how aloof and above it all he is.)
Now back to my hot tea and self-pity.
oh....and we may try to snag Vegas too!!
*rubs hands in anticipation*
Oh, yes. Oh, yes. I wonder if I could trade my future LV GA for MSG GA. You probably aren't interested though, are you Mabs? It's okay. I'll wave at you here and there. Make sure to take pictures when I'm on stage, will ya?
Is it only me though or does MGM seem kinda small? The max. capacity is 17,157, compared to 18,200 for MSG and 18,000-20,000 for GM Place.
Awwww...sorry to hear you're sick, groupie.
You'll have to let us know how you fare w/ Vegas tix. I'm thinking it's going to be a tough one to get (like any of them aren't!) but that certainly would be a trip!
Totally agree on Adam's current look, btw. Sure, he's kind of the odd one out (the Ringo of the group, if you will...but totally not...how else would you explain it though?). If nothing else, the current look is light years ahead of that white man's afro he was sporting in the 80s! *cringes thinking of the cover of October*

^ For groupie!
Sheesh, Tiff...talk about having your cake and eating it too. Van, Seattle, MSG x 2, and now LV?
Sheesh, the woman doesn't know when to stop. (Right, Mabel?)
MSG would be the highpoint surely, so forget about LV and finish your U2 jaunt in style in NY!
And get well soon, groupie! Notice how Tiff totally ignored your illness and went on to just post all about herself and her crazy plans, heartless bitch that she is?
That one actually made me laugh, Ellie. Her face is obscured by that hideous hat and those sunglasses, so its not as scary as the others. And I won't even comment on the outfit.
It's more fun from the back, Elphie! That was a truly heinous getup!
Oh Tiff, it totally goes w/o question that I'd be up for MSG GAs if you by miraculous occurence managed to not only score them for LV and find a trade for MSG in October (can you imagine if you could do it for the Friday or Tuesday show?!?!? 3 shows in four days! Totally doable!)
