UGLY BETTY IS BACK! — Page 3

I don't know why everyone is defending Daniel. He's a total slacker and he's terrible at his job, as we've seen time and time again. The only time he succeeds at anything is when Betty does it for him. Alexis and Wilhelmina are doing the right thing by forcing him out. I don't understand how this lazy, disinterested, unintelligent, womanizing guy who only got where he is because he has wealthy, well-connected parents is somehow supposed to be a protagonist or a victim, especially when someone like Wilhelmina wants the editor position so badly, is so talented at the job, and has worked her way up from nothing.

Isn't it sad that her career is pretty much over. What a shame.

The reason they are turning Alexis into such an incredibly despicable and annoying character is because Rebecca Romijn is not going to be part of the show next season anymore, I believe they might write her off the show in the first few episodes. One time I read she was just not a regular and at a later date I read that she simply was off the show. Not sure which one it is, but I certainly hope it's the latter. It's not her fault, it was apparent to me from last season and the beginning of this season that the writers had no clue what to do with the character. She dealt with man issues, then tried to kill her father, then Daniel forgave her, then she was a bitch, I don't know, what a misconceived role! I can't wait for her to be gone.
I strongly disliked this season, there might have been a few episodes I liked (the Victor Garber episode comes to mind) but truly I believe the show is so messy in terms of character development and storylines that it's a turn-off. Last season finale was so strong, this one was just blah. I do hope Alec Mapa comes back to the show next season. He is fantastic.
I wonder what the show will be like with the move to NYC. Word is Pat Fields is back on board and she will be re-designing the look of the show because apparently the ratings were quite disappointing this season compared to those during Season 1.

I have watched the New York, New York promo so many times now!
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofuPosted: 9/23/08 at 12:24am

I'm kinda annoyed that they might be giving Betty a new love interest so soon. I mean, they overplayed the Henry thing but then don't give us enough of the Gio relationship!
Maybe all the "new love interest" rumors I'm hearing aren't true.... but I read them in entertainment weekly, so....

For a season premiere though, I understand why you were underwhelmed.

And it made me laugh out loud - a few times.
Now, throw in MANY more scenes of the 'coach' without his clothes on, and I'm still hooked for another season!

I laughed quite a few times tonight as well. I can't help but laugh at damn near everything that comes from Mark's mouth: "It's like takin' CANDY from a TRANNY" LMAO!!! I almost fell off my bed I was laughing so hard!!

Lindsay's role and its resolution were underwhelming, but I thought she did well with what she was given.
I liked the shake-ups at Meade. As always, I thought Marc and Amanda were wonderful (if underused). I may be biased, but any time Ms. Williams comes on the screen I giggle with glee. If this woman doesn't get an Emmy before this show goes off the air there is no justice in this world.

Nah, not much of a start, but it's got room to grow. I think we need to get Betty back into Mode though. Keep it centred, otherwise it could spread, and NOT in a good way.

Hopefully it will get better.
