As for Jessie... Well, I never can articulate this properly, but perhaps others will get my drift. I think there's something ... maybe a little disingenuous about the type of men Betty attracts. I tend to write off anything that makes me scratch my head as a convention of the stylized world of Ugly Betty, but at times I think, "You know, she's had those braces at least three years and those teeth underneath are clearly perfectly straight. If the girl got contacts and got that hair done, you'd look okay."
Because the show is well written and funny and ALL a fantasy, I'm able to overlook this stuff, but like I said, I just find it disingenuous that Betty continually gets guys who are often pretty hot. Except Henry, of course, because a pair of big glasses immediately makes one ugly and nerdy.
It was alright. I'm not liking the Kimmie/Lindsay subplot yet. I'm hoping that in the future episodes Betty will help her out and she'll turn around and stab her in the back, in true "Ugly Betty" fashion.
Loved that Wicked's Kate Reinders and Avenue Q's Jordan Gelber were cast! They'll probably start hiring more theater actors now that they're in New York. Anyone know if Patti is coming back for an arc or something?
Very disappointing. It appears that the writers have run out of ideas. It was completely predictable, and I was actually bored at times. It also wasn't very funny. Of course, I'll keep watching for now. I hope the writers are able to get things back on course soon.
I love that Ugly Betty is being filmed in New York now. For me, it changes the feel of the show.
The episode was okay, but I wasn't expecting much from it. The end when she meets that cute neighbor and dances in her yellow apartment to American Girl was freakin adorable.
