Uh-oh, Grandma Palin can't be happy about this.

Sarah Palin's 18-year-old daughter Bristol has reportedly broken off her engagement with Levi Johnston, the father of her 2-month-old son Tripp. It's surprising because in an interview just last month with FOX's Gretta Van Susteren, Bristol said the 19-year-old Levi is a hands-on dad and that they planned on marrying after finishing their education.

I feel sorry for this girl and the baby's father. They did nothing to deserve all this attention. I make no judgments about her decisions as to whether or not to have the child, and whether or not to marry the father. I do make a judgment about Sarah Palin as a parent to subject her daughter to this scrutiny.

They REALLY believed that? Now that the election is over and Palin has no chance at a future in any office, her kid is going to be the slut that she is.

The wedding would have been a sham anyway. Anyone with an ounce of brains could see that.

I see that it says the plan was to get married after finishing their education. Perhaps they just aren't going to finish the education.. therefore..

Sympathy for Bristol Palin? Why? I've got as much sympathy for that bit of elevated trailer trash as her mother would have for any of the teen pregnancies she has helped create by her inane abstinence sex ed programs or any of the gay people she'd deprive of their civil rights.

All the little moron had to do was take a little care. And now she's stuck with the consequences -- a life of being trotted around in Mommy's shadow.

Who knows? Maybe she's got some spirit, her remarks on abstinence education being unrealistic certainly indicate that. Maybe she'll be the new Patti Davis.

Ha. Fat chance.

She was careless (and so was he) and now, THEY both have to deal with it. Blame it on teenage horniness, blame it on the "It can't happen to me." attitude of youth. They are hooked up for life to a lesser or greater degree whether they like it or not. It is unfortunate, but it happens.
What makes this particularly sad is that her Mother's ambitions and views on teenage birth control has placed this poor girl front and center in the public's eye. I don't care how hard she will try, raising a child while getting an education at the same time is a Herculean task and I will wager the career and schooling will fall by the wayside.
Levi, as I said before is probably "as happy as a pig in sh*t" as my dear old mother loves to say.

I think Levi is lucky to have found an escape hatch from this family driven by the power-hungry, ridiculously inane woman that is Sarah Palin.

Is he innocent? Of course not. Does he deserve to get caught up in the machinations of a family dynamic ruled by stupidity? Of course not.

I'm just a little flumoxed by the fact that these names are still considered newsworthy. It makes me nervous, because it makes me wonder if the 'powers that be' still see a public future for Sarah - which would only continue the overt insult that she is to our society.

I feel bad for Tripp. What a horrible name. That's a great way to constantly remind him that he's a mistake-- "Whoops, I, tripped!"

My post was pretty well exclusively about Bristol, but Levi definitely qualifies in the moron category too.

Although anyone who breaks up with Bristol Palin can't be considered entirely stupid.

I wonder what the child support payments will be? Are there child support payments when there was no marriage?
