Anyone else watch the two episodes from last night? p*ucking genius. Dreyfus won her first two Emmys for this role in a landslide. She will collect a third this Fall, making that 5 career wins. Not to sound wind chime-y, but that woman is a national treasure.
There is no excuse for this show NOT to win for Comedy Series. Best season of a comedy series in years.
Wind chime away! As amazing as some of these comedy actresses are, she is simply perfection. That twist blew me away, and I had to rewind it from the shock, also to watch Julia's reaction shot, and that perfectly timed pause.
They should just submit the bathroom scene for every category and take all the Emmys.
Those last two eps were so great. And, yes, the bathroom scene was hilarious. It's a small thing, but I love the moment when she was back in NH in her campaign office and, for a split second, forgot that she was POTUS.
Can't wait. Perhaps the most consistently funny thing on TV these days.

Whhhhaaaat? In a world with Broad City?
I know everyone under 70 adores Broad City, but I could not get into it. Well, I only saw one episode - season 2, ep 1 - but it didn't compel me to seek out more. I dunno, the constant shift in styles from "sketch" to "sitcom" to "indie comedy" is a bit jarring for me. I also find stoner humor really dull. But, let's not derail a lovely Veep thread now.

That sounds more like Amy Schumer's show. Are you sure you've watched Broad City?
Because "Wisdom Teeth" and "Knockoffs" were two effing hilarious episodes of Broad City recently.
Yup, S2 ep 1. They got back to their old dorm room and smoke weed with some college freshmen and go to Bed Bath and Beyond to buy an ac. But I've been told that episode isn't the best representation of the show. I'll prob check it out again sometime, but I'm not generally a fast consumer of shows, so I'd rather continue with stuff I instantly connect with. Anyway, VEEP. Yay.

Look for "Wisdom Teeth" and "Knockoffs." I wouldn't steer you wrong like somebody trying to convince you and himself that the Madonna album is any good.
