Some info for Verizon users regarding the new tier system that starts tomorrow. It says that current unlimited customers aren't affected "yet". I assume that "yet" ends when your current contract does.

Posted: 7/7/11 at 8:53amI happened to be walking by a Verizon store last night so I popped in to see what their definition of "yet" was. I was told that anyone who has the unlimited plan now will be grandfathered in and will have the unlimited plan as long as they are Verizon customers. You can upgrade, renew your contract, etc. You will not lose the unlimited plan. I don't know if other stores are telling other stories but this what I was told last night.

Posted: 7/7/11 at 9:27amOh man, I really hope that I stay grandfathered in with unlimited data. I use my phone for Pandora radio and Tunebite (App that offers access to all radio stations that have an internet stream.) nearly every day. I imagine that would eat up 2GB pretty quickly.

I switched last Friday. I got in under the gun, as they kids say. Or said...in like 1950.

Here's a question for anybody who already has a 4G phone. Did you have to sign up for a new data plan since you were going from 3G to 4G?
I do remember that my data plan changed when I went from the original iPhone to the 3GS, since I was going to a 3G data plan from the Edge plan. I can see that being the loophole that allows them to get rid of all the unlimited plans if the data plan for 4G is different than the 3G plan.
