Varley Blames "Enquirer" for Breakup

Enquiring minds led to the demise of the Eddie Varley-Phantom2 union--at least that's the way Varley sees it.
During a one-on-one with Scott Nevins, to be broadcast Monday, Varley maintains Phanty "beat me and hit me everywhere." He says he is still in such agony from the beatings that he even undergoes needle injections to the head and random out-calls with various hairless and muscle bound latin escorts to relieve the pain.
("This is one show that should not be seen by children," said a source close to the production.)
But ultimately, Fantasma Due's alleged antics alone weren't to blame for the relationship going bust. Eddie Varley blames the breakup on a tabloid article that portrayed Phanty as an alcoholic.
"She got the magazine on a Wednesday morning, and on Thursday announced our marriage was over," Varley said during the interview, which took place in the basement of the Unicorn Bookstore where he's been holed up since last month.
Varley, who has referred to his ex as an "alcoholic, overly mangroomed" hot chours boy, denies contributing to the tabloid report. Indeed, he says that the two might still be making sweet music if the story had never been published.
"If Phantom2 would have come and said, 'I wanna take care of you,Ahhhhhhhhhhh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize what I've done,' who knows what would have happened?" mused the 38 year old collector of Bel Ami dvd's and imported teddy bears.
But don't blame Varley for exposing their dirty laundry. "Whether people love me or hate me, the one thing they all say is 'Eddie Varley brought her back,'" the 38-year-old modestly claims.

Where are they now?
Eddie Varley, using the settlement money from his splashy (and trashy) public divorce from Phantom2, has joined platonic forces with noted cybermogul Rob Diamond, and is heavily involved producing musical benefits, and hobnobbing with noted Broadway celebrities and with the Broadway-crazed hoi polloi.
Phantom2, depressed, devastated and denuded by the scandalous doings of last fall, has barely been seen. He remains in total seclusion and, it is reported, his only contact and communication with the outside world is through a series of "hot or not" message threads that he creates on Internet message boards. He rarely responds directly in those threads, and when asked to comment for this update his only reply was,
"Eddie Varely, hot or not."

Corine2, BroadwayLegend and confidant of Phantom2, is recovering from the toll of this break-up on her beloved P2 in her own fashion. She swore off gay married men and true to her word has been seen at nearly all of Manhattan's glitsy-ist events on the arms of Manhattan's most eligible straight bachelors. Recently spotted at Manhattan's biggest restaurant opening of the new season, she was asked if wedding bells were soon to heard ringing out her name, Corine tossed her head back and broke into a big smile and said, Ah, l'amour, l'amour. Toujours l'amour, honey. With a hearty laugh she swooped into the very private soireé on the arm of the ever-so-gorgous Mr. Fightin' Irish himself Gary Godsey.
Corine2 appears to be the only one to have truly survived this tragic break-up between Eddie Varley and her Phanty.
