Mine are:

1) Marc Broussard

re: Virtual Unknowns

Well, most Broadway artists are unknown to the general music buying public. My personal favorite: Julia Murney.
"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife

you think Guster is unknown? I love Guster... but if they count I guess then Ben Folds and Ben Folds Five... my absolute favorite by far

re: Virtual Unknowns

Not so unknown, but she deserves I think to be more known then she is:

Renee Olstead.
This girl is something fierce.

I really like Eliot Morris, he opened for the Goo Goo Dolls/Counting Crows when I saw them a few weeks ago and he was great. His song "colorful world" is in a Crayola commercial right now.

I am big fan of Back of the Moon, who are pretty obscure. Another good band I like that not many people have heard of - Afro Celt Sound System.

Spidey, I ADORE Marc Broussard. I saw him in concert at a local bar a year couple years ago. He was great. He has such a stage presence.

re: Virtual Unknowns

I saw him as the opening act to Maroon 5 about 3 years ago (before Maroon 5 was famous), and he stole the show from them. Simply AMAZING! How he is not famous, is completely beyond me.

re: Virtual Unknowns

I would love to see him again in concert. He is just one on a list of artists that I am still amazed aren't more popular.

Me too. He came to Charleston (about a hour away from me) a couple of months ago and I didn't even know it. I was upset when I found out about it after he was here. But, next time he comes back, I am def. going!

What is your favorite song of his? Its a tie between The Wanderer, Home, and Rocksteady.

re: Virtual Unknowns

Marc Broussard is pretty good. Kell Clarkson covered his song "Home" on her last tour, so maybe that'll get his name out there a bit more.

I don't know how well known Ben Harper, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Patty Griffin are, but I looove them all.

Ben Harper--YES!

How did Kelly do on "Home?"

Her vocals were out of this world on that song (as I guess one could imagine). I very much preferred it to Marc's, I have to say.

I second Julia Murney. I also am loving James Donegan's CD *shameless plug* now available on iTunes.

Dave Melillo. He's fantastic, still in his teens, and just released his first EP

i love diana anaid. sometimes also billed as diana ah niad, i think she changed the spelling of her last name to become a palidrome. she's from austrailia, she had a semi-hit last year, but all of her stuff is good.

I am listening to Eva Cassidy right now, and I just have to say that she has the voice of an angel. It is so sad that she died so young!

re: Virtual Unknowns

zzannahk, I really like Last Thing (No Boys Allowed) by Diana Anaid, but that's the only song of hers I know.

A few months ago I would have written OK Go, but they suddenly have a huge following thanks to their stupendous video. I saw them in concert 2 years ago, and it may be the most entertaining live show I've seen.

I also like Wakefield, Aslyn, Ivy, and many others that I can't think to name at the moment.

And, as always, I LOVE Natalie Imbruglia. Her last album entered the UK charts at #1, but it wasn't even released in the USA because her second album sold so terribly here. But she's phenomenal, and this album, Counting Down the Days, is definitely her best yet.
I starred in a short film called Magnetic Personality. Check it out!
