Hey
long time listeners, first time caller
in May coming to NYC from UK in a once in a lifetime trip!
I have always heard about Voodoo Donuts and when we booked our USA adventure one of the first things I looked up was if there is a VOODOO DONUTS in NYC and I was so excited to hear it opening in October’25…….except it didn’t!
I have dug and have heard maybe it’s opening in march? Has anyone heard anything? Obviously I’m not cancelling if it ain’t opening but it would literally be the cherry on my voodoo donut if it’s open

Their website says "Coming Soon" with no date for NYC.
We have 4 here in Colorado. Two near me. They are good. I tried the Maple Bacon and another one but forget which one!
They are decently priced here from $1.50 to $4.00. Will be interested in how much they will be in NYC.

I saw a vague opening date but that has now passed. I have to come to terms I’m not eating a voodoo donut in NYC
Are there any great places instead? I love taste but I also love dramatics

I would say to definitely swing by Schmackary's. It has been a staple for years. Very popular in the theater community. And they are delicious. (At least they still were when I left 2 years ago!)
They are located right in Hell's Kitchen close to 9th in the theater district.

It's not Voodoo Donuts but Amy's Bread is always a stop for me. Great pastries, sandwiches, and cookies. Multiple locations.

I lived in Amy's Bread on 9th! And it was best to get in there earlier in the day.
And I used to like to pop into a Baked By Melissa mini cupcake shop before a show at times. There was one in the theater district but looking on their website, it looks like it's gone. Looks like the closest one is in Grand Central on 42nd. God those cupcakes are good and just enough to satisfy a need for something sweet.
