Cats was fun I sat on 2nd to back row of the Mezz (great sight lines, not so great leg room) The main Andre guy was off. The understudy/standby was maybe ok until The Addressing of the Cats where he blew the roof off! I really enjoyed this but it was bleak from the back. Saw this last night. By far the bf’s fav show so far - ‘finally a proper Broadway show!’ Was in the back Mez and about only a third full but of VERY vocally appreciative audience up there. Lots of people to see Michelle Williams and she did not disappoint!I really enjoyed this but felt it was a bit tired lifted by a really great audience. Saw this afternoons matinee 9 (!) phones (text/calls) went off during the 80 mins running time, truly appalling and disrespectful in such a small venue. I assume this happens a lot as the actors didn’t flinch and carried on regardless. saw the premiere in Edinburgh and have to say preffered it this afternoon.
