And it's SUCH FUN!
So glad I'm out of town until Tuesday. My neighborhood is probably blowing up right now.
Girls will be vomiting on the street all night around here. Ten sports bars within 2 blocks. Yeesh.
Q of the nite: How many chicken wings do you think were served tonight in the USA?
Maybe now Eli will finally get the recognition he deserves. He elevates them from a mediocre team. And I'm a Jets fan.
Had a heartstopping moment when my brother thought he won ten grand, only to find out he had his numbers backwards.
I'm gonna go throw up now.
Go big blue!!!! Great game for Eli, I second the hope that he gets the recognition he deserves. Great game.

My normally quiet neighborhood is acting in a terribly unrefined manner.
Sad. Terribly sad.
I HATE that school (senior thesis crunch time) and many, many miles is separating me from the parade.
I almost gave up after the Redskins loss and then Victor Cruz turned on his jets on Christmas Eve against the Jets and the rest is history. I did not think this team after the lockout with the loses of Steve Smith and Shaun O'Hara that this team was in any way ready for this run. So happy they proved me wrong.
I feel like I have a connection to Eli. I was at the team's official draft party at the Meadowlands when he was traded to the team (and there was actually a lot of skepticism from a lot of the fans since he was just considered Peyton's little brother). Now seeing him take this team to two Super Bowls (and those two have been the only sports championships I have lived to see any of my teams win), makes me feel like a proud family member if that does not sound too weird.
Great, now I am going to have a lot of people at work tomorrow rub in my face about how great the Giants are. Truth be told, they aren't that great. If you look at their stats they aren't that good at all. They just got lucky and were in the right place at the right time. There were so many great teams in the playoffs and great match ups. But, it is sad that this is what we got as the Super Bowl.
All I can say is that I am so glad that the Patriots lost. I really hate them and Tom Brady most of all. Not saying that it is a deserving win or even a very well played game from either team for that matter. But, all I can say is that I am glad that the Pats lost.
Winston, shut it. The NFC was stacked and the Giants beat the best team in the NFL on the road and the next best team also on the road to get to the Super Bowl. The AFC was weak sauce. I honestly think the Lions and Saints could have handily beat any team the AFC put up this season. Anybody who watched the Giants this season knew they moved into another gear when they played the elite teams.

I will be at the parade tomorrow, Of course I work right by City Hall which makes it easy.
I usually avoid the bickering, but finally have to comment -
I have always said that the last superbowl win was a "cinderella win". I was very happy to take the win, but knew it was more luck then our actual full team playing ability (it was alllll about the D). However, this year, we PLAYED it! There was no more luck for us this year than any other them. For the past 5 or 6 games, we played hard and smart. Sure some mistakes were made, but that is any team (Green Bay meltdown? Broncos meltdown? Atlanta meltdown?) but each game we played hard and better. We had a rocky start of the season, but came to life when it counts. You don't need to go undefeated all season to win a superbowl (which we proved to two teams). It means you win the games when they count.
I am VERY proud of this team!
Jets fan here, but I'd root for al Qaeda before I'd root for the Patriots. It's sour grapes to deny the Giants their due, particularly Eli. It wasn't the greatest game ever played, but to be honest, there wasn't very much good football played this season. I don't think anyone fully recovered from the labor dispute, and it was eviddent in the quality of play.
^ I agree. And if you aren't into football, there is no reason for anyone to rub a game you don't care about in your face. I'll admit, I was sort of rooting for the Patriots, but only because I'm a 49ers fan. But, I ended up not caring who won because I honestly don't like the Giants or Patriots. Good job to the Giants.
The lockout and more importantly the incredibly soft rules set up the competition committee five years in the making has lead to the absurd amount of offensive records getting broken left and right this year. With Bill Polian no longer in the league maybe there could be a tighter grip and finally favoring defenses. Then again Goodell (who I think is way too media conscious) seems all too content about turning the sport into a live-action Madden videogame.
Giants-Pats games are heart attack games in general. They are not the prettiest games, just full of surprises and highs and lows and a whole lot of tension.

I know NOTHING about football, or any sports, but I can tell you this: They are better than YOUR team and saying stuff like this is just childish whining. Is it really so hard to be a good loser?
