Named the worst movie of the Nineties by the Razzies, but here are some that are much, much worse:
The S&M sitcom EXIT TO EDEN
PATCH ADAMS/FLUBBER/TOYS/BEING HUMAN...basically anything Robin Williams did in the nineties.
EVERYBODY WINS...Winger and Nolte in maybe the worst thing Arthur Miller ever wrote.
REACH THE ROCK...John Hughes' unfortunate, little-seen swan song.
JADE...hateful little movie by Friedkin/Eszterhas.
MADHOUSE...I'll go to the mat saying Kirstie Alley was a unique, funny comedienne. Movies like this didn't help my cause.
200 CIGARETTES...wow! It's like AMERICAN GRAFITTI! Only its the eighties! And it sucks!
BOONDOCK SAINTS...why did the Weinstein's treat this so badly? Well, take one look at it. Has inexplicable following.
Gregg Araki's nineties movies...both cutsie and offensive, like PORKYS gone all L.A. hipster.
THE FLOWER OF MY SECRET....Almodovar's sleep-inducing bore.
NORTH...the beginning of the end of Rob Reiner's career.
And many, many more!
Happy Heights has to be up there...if anyone actually saw it. Perhaps I wasn't on the right drugs at the time.
Or what about that Master of Disguises thing?

Anyone see 88 MINUTES? I just saw a bootleg of it last night.
New camp classic for sure. Pacino looks like he's about to fall asleep throughout the entire movie and nobody else even TRIES. It's gloriously awful and the final reveal to who the killer is may actually be the single most ridiculous thing I've ever seen in a movie.

Oh, yeah, there are far worse movies from the 90s than SHOWGIRLS. Spielberg's HOOK and JURASSIC PARK: THE LOST WORLD come to mind, ghastly movies that aren't even entertainingly dreadful.

I ADORE Hook. One of my top favorite 90s movies.
BOONDOCK SAINTS is indeed a huge piece of crap--it's also my best friend's favorite movie...so I had to watch it once.
Poor Willem Dafoe.
I enjoyed Hook and Toys. I found them both to be delightful. And little did we know that the Jurassic Park franchise would only get worse. Part 3 made The Lost World look like cinematic genius.
Borstal - You might as well just say any Gregg Araki film except maybe Mysterious Skin.
There is one movie I remember trying to enjoy several times but never being able to get through...Cutthroat Island. Somehow I thought that a pirate adventure flick with Geena Davis, Matthew Modine and Frank Langella can't be completely unwatchable. But alas, it is.
What is the deal with BOONDOCK SAINTS???? I have seen BS t-shirts fer Chrissakes!
Oh, and Lil, you have got to see the documentary OVERNIGHT. It's basically about how the movie was picked up by the Weinsteins and the director, Troy Duffy, went into a hubris-filled downward spiral. An astonishing portrait of arrogance and self-sabotage. Pretty amazing.
Battlefield Earth was easily the worst movie that I've seen that came out of the 90s.
I enjoyed Showgirls.
Kyle MacLachlan's butt stand-in and the entire pool sex scene from Showgirls was one of the most hilarious film scenes from the 90s.
"Oh, and Lil, you have got to see the documentary OVERNIGHT"
Heavens...wasn't that toliet scene enough?

THE PELICAN BRIEF....neither about pelicans nor brief. Discuss.
I was actually disappointed to find Waterworld not to be as awful as people led me to believe. Kevin Costner was a popular target at the time and Waterworld, while not great, was more or less ridiculed simply because Costner was simply miscast again. Personally, I found Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Wyatt Earp to be MUCH worse than Waterworld. And I have to admit, I enjoyed The Postman, which was more suited to Costner.
Anyone who says Speed Racer is the wrost movie, is lying. Because everyone knows that Moulin Rouge is the worst movie, ever! Why would anyone even go see Speed Racer????
HOOK is one of my favorite movies ever. I adore it. My siblings and I watched it ALL the time.
Because everyone knows that Moulin Rouge is the worst movie, ever!
If by "everyone" you mean "a small minority of one", then you are correct. That aside, what took you so long? But to answer your question, I imagine people went to see Speed Racer because they wanted to.

The PELICAN BRIEF is the turkey long.
That aside, what took you so long?
I was busy seeing Speed Racer!
I saw it today and enjoyed it. Of course, I was expecting the worst film ever due to the reviews and poor box office. For a movie like this to get so many bad reviews and do so poorly at the box office confuses me when a film like Alvin and the Chipmunks also gets bad reviews but makes a ton of money.
I am buying SPEED RACER when it comes out on Blu-Ray. It will look and sound incredible!
Showgirls is one of my favorite movies of the last 20 years. Truly a masterpiece of cinema. A thousand times more entertaining than anything Spielberg has ever made.
I adore Hook!
I hate "Babe" "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (the live one), "The Cat in the Hat" (again, the live one), "Knocked Up", "SuperBad" (yes go ahead and shoot me. i just did not find them funny), any Adam Sandler movie with a few exceptions, "Bratz" (let's not talk about that...)
i'm not quite sure what the absolute worst movie i have seen is though
I agree Liverpool. Showgirls f*cking rocks!
i just saw prom night, and that my friends, is THE worst movie... but in regards to a patch adams on the list way up there, that's a fantastic movie thankyouverymuch!
I had heard that they kept 88 Minutes on the shelf for a couple of years.
