Found a few ways to help those affected by the school shooting. One is http://www.walloflove.org. It allows you to submit pictures in support of those affected by the tragedy. It may not seem like much, but its something.

Another way to help: Teddy Bear Drive

"If you are wondering how you can help the children of Newtown, Connecticut, our friends at KISS 95.7, Connecticut's KC101.3 FM, Country 92-5, The River 105.9, 960WELI are holding a Teddy Bear Drive to collect teddy bears for the children of Sandy Hook Elementary School.

These teddy bears will distributed to provide comfort to the students during this extremely difficult time.

Taz, I feel the same way about that other thread.

I can't remember the last time I felt such deep, helpless sorrow. I also couldn't sleep last night, and my waking thought was the unimagineable grief the families of those lost must be feeling.

My heart is shattered by this, and my Prayers are offered to all who hurt.

Something, anything to show those kids that one man does not define their world forever is worth a shot.

Every new article or newsclip I see starts the tears flowing again. There are not words enough to express the heartache I feel for the victims and their families.

The National Association of School Psychologists has posted a whole slew of materials for helping children cope with a crisis and promoting school safety if anyone needs them. Some of them are geared more towards school psychologists and other school personnel, but some of them are for anyone who has contact with children who may have trouble understanding what happened. Why did this have to happen to these innocent children, their shattered families, the teachers who were there to guide them? I grieve for them, my heart goes out to them, my prayers are with them.

The children were all shot multiple times. MULTIPLE times.
Does it get any more horrific than that? I am just SICK with sadness over this.
(And, doodle - yes - prayers for those brave men. I can't imagine bearing witness to it).

Those poor, terrified babies. Bless each and every one of their precious souls.

The current front page of the NY Times online - with the black box listing each of the names - made me cry fresh tears.

Here is the eulogy delivered by Veronique Pozner at the funeral on Monday for her 6-year-old son, Noah, as issued by The Associated Press:

The sky is crying, and the flags are at half-mast. It is a sad, sad day. But it is also your day, Noah, my little man. I will miss your forceful and purposeful little steps stomping through our house. I will miss your perpetual smile, the twinkle in your dark blue eyes, framed by eyelashes that would be the envy of any lady in this room.

Most of all, I will miss your visions of your future. You wanted to be a doctor, a soldier, a taco factory manager. It was your favorite food, and no doubt you wanted to ensure that the world kept producing tacos.

You were a little boy whose life force had all the gravitational pull of a celestial body. You were light and love, mischief and pranks. You adored your family with every fiber of your 6-year-old being. We are all of us elevated in our humanity by having known you. A little maverick, who didn’t always want to do his schoolwork or clean up his toys, when practicing his ninja moves or Super Mario on the Wii seemed far more important.

Noah, you will not pass through this way again. I can only believe that you were planted on Earth to bloom in heaven. Take flight, my boy. Soar. You now have the wings you always wanted. Go to that peaceful valley that we will all one day come to know. I will join you someday. Not today. I still have lots of mommy love to give to Danielle, Michael, Sophia and Arielle.

Until then, your melody will linger in our hearts forever. Momma loves you, little man.
