Look, I've heard a lot of negative things about Anna Wintour but never that she called Mandela a terrorist. And the Miranda Priestly character may have been inspired by Wintour, but was not supposed to BE her. Okay? OKAY? But wasn't Emily Blunt great in that movie? Gawd, I love her.

I'm still grateful for Susan and Tim using their Oscar platform to call attention to the Reagan administration putting HIV positive Cuban refugees behind bars at Guantanamo. BOY did my Reagan-loving sister go off on the whole "there's a time and a place" thing. I love when people shake things up when they get the chance.

I posted this on the other thread, but I think it's important to read the actual transcript from Meryl Streep's entire speech. She's also incredibly good friends with Emma Thompson and they constantly poke fun at each other when losing to each other at award ceremonies.

This is what I get for not reading the specifically-linked quote! My only interaction with her words were through the entirety of her speech...as well as Thompson's. I was kind of stunned to see some of the reactions here, assuming everyone had read what I did.
