From the Ukraine's version of America's Got Talent
Sand castles
I want to see a sand vagina.
No you don't, Diva.
Found it!
Oh noooooooooooo......
Wassa matter?
Got some sand in there?
Not THAT much.

MadBrian - thank you so much for that, it is incredible - jaw-dropping, in fact. It took me a minute to figure out how she was adding the darker elements by sifting the sand through her clenched fist - unbelievable control. And I was completely taken with the overall drama of the presentation - which was obviously being felt very deeply by the audience.
Stunning stuff.
The video is pretty amazing!

It's so rare to find something that you can honestly say, "I've never seen anything like that!" This was one of those moments for me.
And on a side note, she is GORGEOUS!

That is unbelievably fascinating. Love it!
That was incredible!
And yes, the lady was gorgeous.
Absolutely astounding! What a treat to be able to watch that. Thanks so much, Madbrian.
It amazes me that this kind of talent exists in the world. Her paintings were beautiful, a little reminiscent of Marc Chagall's work.

And it's not just her painting with the sand - it's the candle/atmosphere, the music and her extraordinary presense and 'flair'. Just the entire concept, really. I am truly bowled over by this, and want to know much more about her!

I seen a woman do that at a fair but she was much older and
I learned how to make a rose out of sand and it isn't easy as you think it is.

Of all the things that passed through my mind while watching this, "that's easy" never occured to me.

"Kseniya Simonova is a 24 year old artist. She first started making these type of drawings last year on the beach and eventually it all progressed to this."
This is about all I'm finding! Well, that and comments on various blogs/sites around the world where this is exploding basically expressing disbelief and profoundly moving response.
I wouldn't mind at all if this led to her having a life of expression without having to worry about the particulars of life. If this is what she has come up with in ONE YEAR, then we would benefit from having her unencumbored in her pursuits.
Easy? um, no. It isn't easy at all. A couple of gestures with her fingers and there's a flag - carrying crowd of people in revolt? -not easy.
Oh please...I can do that!
Seriously, there are several youtube vids of sandpainting...very cool, especially considering the art is gone in seconds...like etch a sketch.

Even I have to laugh at what Namo calls my "purple prose"!
"a life of expression"? "unencumbored in her pursuits"?
Please.
Oh, well, I still think she's 'awesome'
I have never seen anything like that before. That was incredible. I never thought that watching someone create visual art could bring tears to my eyes.
I've seen sand painting before, but this whole...package of music, subject matter, and her poise, was simply breathtaking.
