Not freaking out. I find it quite dull, actually. I just don't care for the song as a sleepy ballad.
She only does sleepy ballads now though, right?
I love the woman, but stick to her early stuff. I saw her Vegas show and I just...wish I hadn't.

Hate that song, kinda sick of her but....This intrigues me. I'll give her album a chance.
She doesn't have that SOUL to sing this kind of song. But the arrangement is pretty.
I'm pleasantly surprised. I never much cared for the original due to TBoz's vocals but like this arrangement.
I love this song.
I love TLC.
I miss the rap, but I love Bette for including this in the collection.

Bette was always expert at covers: Old Cape Cod, Going To The Chapel, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, In My Life, Wind Beneath My Wings, When A Man Loves A Woman, and all the others she did.
I like the arrangement of this song, but Bette's sounding a bit old. You can hear a bit of heaviness in the voice that was never there before, some loss of resiliency.

Great song. Excellent production. Tasteful choice to skip the rap and not sound like you-know-who back when she was doing yoga and pilates and the room was full of hotties and she was feeling super-duper as she drove her Mini Cooper.
I want this album to do well so that she tours.
From Marc Shaiman's FB page, "Well, looks like it's another chapter from the modern give it away for free era: The entire album is streaming on Amazon for a few days! Now, let me be clear, if any of you motherf**kers stream this and then don't buy it (on Amazon, iTunes AND Target, I insist you buy 3 copies!), I will hunt you down like the dog you are. And if any of you motherf**kers listens to this over tinny laptop speakers - that have virtually no bass on them - I will also hunt you down. Hook this **** up to some good speakers or headphones, dammit! THEN turn it up...loud! I have spoken!!"
Streaming on Amazon
Oooh! I'm playing it right now at my desk.
Thanks for the heads up Jungle Red!
Err... If someone streamed it, and then never bought it... wouldn't that indicate they didn't want to hear it again?!

Marc Shaiman's right. I'm looking forward to hearing the full sound.
He is absolutely right. On another note.. I bought tickets this morning for Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett at the Hollywood Bowl.. and I noticed that the prior weekend is blacked out with a un announced event that uses the full Philharmonic........ I have my reasons.. but I think it is "A Evening With Bette Midler at the Hollywood Bowl".
You can stream the entire album live on Amazon 'til November 3rd.

Dame, when is gaga and bennett playing the bowl?
I was somewhat curious about the Radio City show, until it seems like anything decent is part of the half dozen VIP packages. But if you have $1,895 for a front row, meet and greet ticket, this is a great opportunity!
Bowl is on May 30.
I'll stick with the original.

I never knew the words to anything but the chorus before this. I had no idea of the subject matter.
It made me cry.
