Doesn't matter. She still brought more depth and shading to it than Underwood.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

I assumed using the British accent was to prevent further injury to the thin-skinned star of the special.

It's almost as though they did the sketch before they saw the actual performance and just assumed she'd sound like Julie Andrews.

If she didn't use a Brit accent or, god forbid, had used a southern American one, CU would have tweeted Kate McKinnon needed to find Jesus, her lord.

The real maria of course didn't have a southern or britssh accent since she was Austrian so its moot.

I thought the Bill Brasky sketch was horrible, myself.

Okay, that Goodman/Stallone/DeNiro sketch was hysterical!
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

As ridiculous as it was, I really enjoyed the courtroom sketch with Goodman in drag, as well. Perhaps it was just the sight of him in that dress...maybe the wig...or maybe that dancing.

I was the same way. I laughed during that sketch. Ever since John played Linda Tripp there is something about him in drag that just cracks me up.

A round of applause for the camels ridden by The Three Wise Guys. And the thought of one of the wearing shoes.

Those camels were ridden by Al Sharpton 10 seasons ago!

I wonder if the religious right will go nuts over "Three Wise Guys" the way they went nuts over Christoph Waltz's "D'Jesus Unchained" last year.

They went nuts over Gilda Radner and Larraine Newman playing little girls having a slumber party and discussing the cutest movie Jesuses Gilda picked the guy from Jesus of Nazareth because he had "whiter teeth than Eric Estrada's." I believe the network made them apologize.

I actually thought the monologue was pretty funny - it is not often you hear folks singing about anal on network TV. He and Kennan play well of each other. The three wise guys was funny. But so far, the show is made by Goodman himself.

I guess it all depends whose ox is being gored.
Funny you do not see any sketches making fun of Mohammed. They are to smart for that.

Because their audience is so well versed in the stories attributed to Mohammed. Besides they weren't making fun of Jesus Roxy. They were making fun of East Coast Wise Guys. OOOH! But you knew that.
I loved the weirdness and downright creepiness of the dancing snow flake sketch.
ETA: Roxy this was not the first time SNL parodied The three Kings the last time was 11 years ago with The Reverand Al Sharpton as one of the Kings. I am sure Jesus had a sense of humor, more then at times, can be said for you. OOOOOH!

Next week we have Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake. Will we break the record for number of surprise guests and musical numbers?

I am sure SNL next week will be a wonderful Christmas Present. It will herald Jimmy moving to the Tonight Show, Seth's departure for The Late Show. There has not been a read through yet but I am sure there will be lots of treats in store.

Between his stints as host, appearances as a musical guest and other surprise cameos, how many times has Justin Timberlake been on SNL? Surely the number is very high. It's incredible how much they love him (and rightfully so).

Not sure, but having worked with him numerous times, I can tell you , he is one of the most kindest, down to Earth and incredibly talented person I have run across in a long time. EVERYONE loves him up there! As you said Liza, rightfully so!
