Posted: 11/24/13 at 5:36pmI dunno, I can't really blame the show on Josh or whether he has any comedic skills or not. Compared to many other younger, first-time-hosting actors he seemed to be comfortable and fine with the material, reading the cue cards, not breaking up with laughter (though why would he?) It was just a bad show, and they didn't really give him much to do (even his monologue was mostly taken away from him.)

I have a really complicated five point system by which I grade SNL:
1. Did
2. it
3. make
4. me
5. laugh?
If I answer yes to all five questions, I feel like I got a great return on my time investment. Even the fired employees sketch cracked me up, "These Planet of the Apes looking bitches...." I liked that most of the sketches were surreal. I loved the dancing video.
HAIM clearly graduated tops in their class at the Susanna Hoffs School of Sideways Glances.

Posted: 12/8/13 at 1:01amAside from the first ten minutes and Weekend Update, I thought this was a very weak episode.

Posted: 12/8/13 at 1:09amI have to say the 2 nd half was superior to the first (with exception of the opening). Found the religious joke on Update bad taste. The sketch about the guys drinking was labored and had the unfunny reference to AIDS.One day they will get their act together. The David sketch was a rip. Once again Pharoah under utilized.

"had the unfunny reference to AIDS."
What was unfunny about it?
