Oh, and I do tend to like some of the "emo" music... I actually like Hawthorne Heights ("Ohio is for Lovers"). I don't really consider my personality to be "emo," though.

p.s. "Thunder Rolls" is my favorite Garth Brooks song EVER.

Is Thunder Rolls the one about the kid that's watching their dad beat their mom?

Yes, skittles, that's the one. Garth played the father in the video, and he was SCARY.

Um... no. Not sure which song you are thinking of, but "Thunder Rolls" is about a wife whose husband is out cheating on her and she figures it out, basically.

I think John Mayer is a little overrated, but I still like his music.

Yeah, I like some of his lesser known songs. "My Stupid Mouth" is definitely my favorite song of his.

I absolutely love the lyrics in that song.

secondstar, the video for The Thunder Rolls definitely has some abuse in it. The husband goes after his wife while their daughter watches from the stairs.

Yeah, the lyrics are great. And to me, it's just one of those songs that I can play over and over and not get tired of. His more well known songs are okay as well, but I like My Stupid Mouth and City Love the best.

I like a few of his songs from Room for Squares. But what's up with the John Mayer Trio, or whatever he has now?

I love The Beatles.

Allie, I've never seen the video. I was just thinking in terms of what the lyrics are saying.

Oh, David Gray is great Second Star.

And I'm waiting for the day when someone tells me that they don't know who the Beatles are. That'll be scary.

And 3x5 is a pretty good song.

There's a "The Beatles" unit in my music class. Hopefully their music and message will never die. (I made my boyfriend a Beatles mix Cd for Valentines Day)

Katt, you get a cookie for knowing (and liking) David Gray. No one else EVER knows who I'm talking about.

Yay, The Beatles! When I was little, my dad would play When I'm 64 and I would sing along. He has a video. Eek!

secondstar, you should check it out. It's very disturbing. Garth Brooks has made some really great videos.
