In all seriousness, I think the 3D could be used to kick ass effect in the dream sequences if done right. But, on the other side, "Freddy's Dead" was in 3D and it blew huge chunks

The article has it wrong
It has nothing to do with Wes, he wants nothing to do with these films (he hated the idea of the reboot).
The studio have said they will do a 3D sequel, Craven wont be involved

That is where you are wrong. Wes DID want to be involved with the reboot. That's why he's so pissed off, because they didn't ask him be involved at all.
