This is exactly what I hate about most pop performers today, and why I think modern pop music vocalists in general are a joke.

I get the feeling that's fake. It doesn't make sense that her mic is live while she's lip syncing. Or rather--the sound guy would have had to choose to record what was coming through the mic (but what wasn't going out into the audience). So maybe that's what this is. But it seems kinda phony.
Not saying she has a terrific voice. She used to when she was young. Who knows what it sounds like now.

From the sound of some of her live performances, I think a certain amount of her actual voice does come through on the mic, but she's "filled in" by her backing track.

And if you think she's alone, she's far from it.
They have to sing "live" to some degree, or they'll be sued. But mostly what you're hearing is a prerecord.
And that goes for nearly ALL pop divas who perform in that style (with a heavily danced or staged show).
I'd love to hear some of the other mic leaks, if anyone dares to do it.
But it's easier to kick someone when they're down, and also it would be hard to prove this leak was "damaging" to her career, since it's already been damaged beyond repair by previous performances and off-stage drama.
But I'd love to hear Cher's... or Madonna's... or Miley's... or...

I don't really care. I mean she's already a joke, has always been one to me, and she sounds like poop even when she's computerized on her albums. these people are pop stars. They are not selling thier voice. they are selling image, merchandise and sex, and that's what her shows are about. Say what you want, but she puts on a good show, IMO. Lots of great people behind the scenes make her what she is. Great pyrotechnics and effects, the ol' razzle dazzle. The voice is really 10% of the final product. I'm not defending her. It's just what it is.

Then they shouldn't be called "singers." It's an insult to people who really sing.

I thought it was fake too... but it sounds so much like her. It seems like something easy enough to fake.
I wouldn't be surprised if someone recorded her hot mic. It's very easy to do, and she is probably wearing two. She really doesn't need to nail the vocals on this if she is lip syncs but she does have to sell it.

Well, Madonna has always sung live where she isn't obviously lipsyncing--often the opening number.
And the proof is in the Blond Ambition tour with her painful rendition of "Sooner or Later". She sang it beautifully at the Oscars and terribly the night HBO filmed her concert. But she had just been dancing and given that she had such little training at that time, she had no breath support for the notes.
Her last 3 tours have sounded terrific, but a flaw here and there and you can tell it's live.

mejust, if it's a fake, it sounds like someone use ProTools or the like to do the opposite that which usually done to her voice. lol Some of it just didn't seem real.

Well frankly, even in the 5th grade when we were all nuts about her (myself included), I knew she wasn't a "singer". It always surprised me, and does still today, when people say that she really is a singer. There is nothing legit about processed vocal work done in a studio. Say that she's famous for her dancing or looks or pop persona, but anybody who thinks she is a singer just doesn't know much about singing at all. And that's fine, I don't expect everybody to know about, I dunno..Audra McDonald or really legit singers like her.

Yeah, I think it's fake, too.
With as loud as things are inside an arena like that, surely SOME of the background noise would have been picked up by the mic (when the door closes, I mean). But it sounds like that was recorded somewhere else entirely. It just seems like an entirely different track.

To me, it seemed like she was dancing and lip-syncing, but you have to sing along with the lip-sync to some extent or it doesn't look real at all. So she's not singing full-out or in performance mode - it's for looks, not sound.

wtf? even if it is real, which i doubt, if she doesn't think her voice will be heard she has no reason to try to actually sing. just to match her lip movements to the song and make it look real.
