I quite like the dog picture. It's very freaky and wrong, but do remember I'm the girl who thinks Sam the ugly dog was one of the cutest things on the internet. XD
Non-theatre things... well, I read. I read a lot of books aimed at kids and teenagers, I read a fair few playscripts, and I've taken to reading biographies recently as well. Right now I'm plowing through
Dreams from my Father and I'm enjoying it hugely. The advantage of working in a bookshop is there is no shortage of reading material, and if I'm very careful while reading, I don't have to pay for my books. XD
I also watch more TV than I used to. I'm not the sort of person who'll sit on the sofa with a remote and see what's on, so I don't consider myself a general television watcher. But when there's a series I like, I do devote myself to it. To the exclusion of life, sometimes. XD I plowed through the entirety of
Six Feet Under in a couple of months, the entirety of
Oz in a matter of weeks, and I'd really love to start watching
The Wire, but I know what I'm like; I'd quite like a bit of time off every now and then.
Beyond that, I'm also a pet owner. I only have a mouse at the moment, and he's elderly and unfriendly, so I'm not as hands-on with him as I have been with other pets. However, I'm planning on homing a cat later this year, so I expect s/he will take up more than a few of my spare minutes.
And I like to bake. Sometimes I find cake recipes that have strange ingredients - tomato soup, mayonnaise, Coca-cola, courgette, whatever. Most people confronted by one of these recipes seem to go "ewww!". I find myself too intrigued to resist and simply *have* to make it. I make normal things too, but not as often as the freaky stuff. XD
When I'm at work and it's very quiet and boring and I've run out of things to do, besides reading, I'm also working on becoming more globally aware by looking up a different country every day and having a quick read about it, and I like to try memorising giant blocks of Shakespeare. I've just started with a bit o'
3 Henry VI, and it's terrifyingly long.
I used to be a massive film buff but then theatre sapped my life. I still like seeing films, but I don't see as many as I used to, and most of 'em are rentals rather than cinema trips these days.
I think you now know more about me than you ever cared to. What larks!
