"Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance" by Barack Obama
The Line of Beauty by Alan Hollinghurst. Such exquisitely crafted prose, though never flowery. It was a bit dry at first, but after the first two chapters, I was absolutely hooked.

I just finished Dave Eggers' What is the What this afternoon. It based on the true story of Valentino Achak Deng, a former Sudanese refugee, who currently attends college in the US. Read it, please. You will not regret it, and it will probably change your life. I have never been more humbled or moved by a single piece of literature.
