The Line of Beauty by Alan Hollinghurst. Such exquisitely crafted prose, though never flowery. It was a bit dry at first, but after the first two chapters, I was absolutely hooked.

I just finished Dave Eggers' What is the What this afternoon. It based on the true story of Valentino Achak Deng, a former Sudanese refugee, who currently attends college in the US. Read it, please. You will not regret it, and it will probably change your life. I have never been more humbled or moved by a single piece of literature.

I'm going to start The History of Love by Nicole Krauss next, while occasionally picking up Dave Eggers' How We Are Hungry for some good short stories.

I recently finished 'Water for Elephants' by Sara Gruen.

Could NOT put it down! Fascinating subject, beautifully written. Loved it. Love talking about it with people who have read it.

Sense and Sensibility

Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

"Kitchen Confidential: Notes from the Culinary Underbelly" by Anthony Bourdain.

Highly recommended for foodies and anyone who has ever worked in the restaurant business. It's hysterical.

I'm currently reading "Somewhere", which is a biography of Jerome Robbins. It's pretty amazing.

I also just finished "Rats Saw God", which was so good I didn't put it down until I ended up reading the entire thing in a few hours. Plus, I just finished "Moby Dick" for AP English 12, but Lord knows I'm happy to be done with that book... stupid whale...

I'm really enjoying it.
