I just read "Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You" by Peter Cameron. It's sort of a like a modern day Catcher in the Rye. Good read for a sunny weekend afternoon.
Right now I'm working on Dark Torte by Diane Mott Davidison. All of her books are easy on the brain, but very entertaining.

^The Kite Runner. I highly reccomend it.
I just finished A THousand Splendid Suns, which I enjoyed more than The Kite Runner. Now, I'm reading The Broker by John Grisham and have to say so far, it's one of his worst. Up next is Stephen King's Duma Key.

That sounds wonderful, california. I'll have to check it out sometime.
I'm currently reading "By Myself", Lauren Bacall's autobiography. It's absolutely marvelous, but that's no surprise. I'm also reading Les Mis for class.
Till We Have Faces by CS Lewis
The Great Gatsby, by:F. Scott Fitzgerald
Seth Rudetsky's Broadway Nights.
Acting Without Agony: An Alternative to the Method by Don Richardson. The funny thing is I found this book randomly at a little used-book store by my house, paid $8 for it, no idea that it's actually a pretty sought-after book.

And I just finished the Scarlet Pimpernel.
I've been tearing through books recently, having in the last week and a half reread Cormac McCarthy's The Road (which I found just as gorgeously heartbreaking the second time), Mansfield Park (the last of Austen's novels I hadn't read), and Brave New World. I'm not sure what's up next.
David Sheff's Beautiful Boy, seriously folks read this book its amazing.

THE SAVAGE DETECTIVES by Roberto Bolano.
Just finished Lolita and I do not understand why it is so beloved.
Reading Middlesex now and I am loving it.
Also just read the Twilight series and love it!
Just finished The Senator's Wife by Sue Miller. A different and strangely poignant ending that I wasn't expecting at all.
Has anyone ever brought up the idea of trying to have some kind of BWW Book Club? I just thought I'd throw the idea out there to see what people think.

I just finished The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon.
I'm still working on The Sign and the Seal.
Californiasnow, the idea has been tossed around a couple of times, but, other than a short lived Harry Potter discussion thread, nothing has ever come of it.
So I put down THE CORRECTIONS and decided to re-read THE HANDMAID'S TALE. Good call.
I’m just starting to read The Secret History of the Iraq War by Yossef Bodansky (HarperCollins).
EVERYONE WORTH KNOWING by Lauren Weisberger, which i've nearly finished. It's mediocre, and barely lives up to DWP but still a good read. When i've finished i'm starting on CUJO by Stephen King, two veyr varied books
I'm working my way through the sappiest, cheesiest "teen" books by author David Levithan. I don't usually go for that kinda stuff, but his stories are just too cute!
