The fondest memory I've ever had of a particuar dish was softshell crab in Atlantic City. I'm sure I've had something better, but that one just sticks out in my head. What's yours?

A lobster-stuffed artichoke floating in a bowl of butter.
Eating my very first lobster at Tony Romas in Tokyo, Japan. It was so delicious.
A mozarella-and-wilted-lettuce warm salad at a Thai "fusion" restaurant about 20 minutes from my house. I've NEVER had a bad dinner there, and whenever they have it (it's seasonal), I have to get it. The head chef grows the tomatoes herself as well as most of the herbs. Oh man, I love that place.
This might sound stupid, but SCALA'S in San Francisco has terrific Caesar salads. The salads stand out more than the main courses.

On the lobster theme - it was a 'lobster pie' in a restaurant (long gone) in NY. Chunks of lobster meat baked in a sherry-laced cream sauce with chunks of toasted brioche floating in the sauce. Very reminiscent of a lobster Newburg, but even richer.
I was in Natchitoches, LA about ten years ago and had some fabulous meat pies at this restaurant by the river. I can't remember the restaurant's name though. Oh well.

Mine was a dessert. It was called "Apple Walnut Chantilly", at an old Stouffer's Restaurant, in Jenkintown, PA (just outside Philadelphia). It was so damned good, I had a second!
Filet Mignon of Tuna
Union Square Cafe
in the dining room?
Ok this sounds really strange, but a small Italian restaraunt near me serves potato pizza, and it is to die for.
Twice is nice.
Gosh, I couldn't say. But my wackiest dishes were at this posh Willy Wonka-ish restaurant in Chicago (Moto, I think?) where my courses included a corn chowder with popcorn dipped in liquid nitrogen at the table, a menu made of risotto and for dessert, doughnut soup (a warm liquid that tasted just like eating a glazed doughnut).

But for starters....
Yellowtail jalapeño sashimi at Nobu

black peppercorn sauce
the Banana Fritter drizzled in hot dark chocolate sauce at the Belgian restaurant on Bem Rakpart in Budapest.......which I will have numerous times next month!

One of them was a medium rare t-bone steak at the San Francisco Steak House in San Antonio, Texas.
I haven't had a steak to match it yet.
Them Texans know their steak.
Beef Wellington at Cafeina in Porto, Portugal (which is coincidentally the background in my avatar).

Nom, next time you're in Dallas you've got to eat at Nick and Sam's.

Thanks, Fiction Writer.
How long of a layover would you have to have at Dallas Airport to get out and eat at that restaurant and is it very far from the AA terminal there? Is it near any particular hotel that might have a shuttle from the airport?
I'm still salivating to sing my carnivore fangs into steak out in Brooklyn at Peter Luger's to see what all the fuss is about.
