I love those cake decorating competitions where they have to create these monstrous sugar structures and then move them to another table without...CRASH! They really do some amazing things.
I also love Alton Brown's Good Eats. I like that he explains why you do things a certain way rather than just tell you to do it. It's that whole ...teach-a-man-to-fish... thing.
Art has a double face, of expression and illusion.
I like Tyler's Ultimate and 30 Minute Meals because what they make are easy to do at home. I also enjoy watching Barefoot Contessa (for her snobbiness), Paula's Home Cooking (for her laugh), Semi-homemade with Sandra Lee (for cocktail time), and Good Deal With David L (bec. he's hot).
I love Barefoot Contessa (Ina reminds me of my WASPy roots, plus she just has amazing recipes), and Paula's Home Cooking. Good Eats is my favorite, though...Alton just has that something about him.
Good Eats is my top favorite. I also like those cake cookoffs. They're always exciting. I guess I'm the only person here who just can't stand listening to Paula's voice. 2 minutes of that cornball accent drives me right up a wall. And I'm a southerner!

Good Eats is great! I always feel a lot smarter after I watch that show. I like being knowledgable about the history of toasters and waffle-irons!
The food that Paula Deen cooks looks sooo good - but incredibly fattening! I think she puts a stick of margarine, tub of sour cream, and cream cheese in almost everything she makes.
I like Rachael Ray's recipes, but she is super-annoying. I hate all her cutesy words and terms that she constantly uses: yum-O, EVOO, spoonula, stoup, super mashers, smashed potatoes, naming tons of dishes after her dead dog, Boo. I know that I left out tons of other Rachel-isms. Feel free to add to my list!
Did any of you watch the Villain cake contest last Sunday?
mirrarmar - "Sammy" instead of sandwich. I want to throw something at the tv...
Sandra Lee doesn't eat, so she does not belong anywhere near a kitchen. Of course I am being completely unfair, biased, and unnecessarily cruel, but that woman gets on my last nerve.
I also sort of have a crush on Emeril, even though I never use his recipes
The morning star always gets wonderful bright the minute before it has to go --doesn't it?
Barefoot Contessa, though I have never and probably will never make one of her recipes. I don't eat meat, and everything else that she makes is bad for you.
I LOVE Giada, too.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
I love pretty much every show on that channel, but the three I never, ever turn off are "Iron Chef", "Good Eats", and (although I despise her) "$40 a Day".
Semi Homemade stinks...her centerpieces at the end always make me laugh. I spend Saturdays with this in the background.
Paula and Giada are the only hosts I can stand...and i like Giada's food (Paula's as well, but I couldnt eat like that!)
I love Ace of Cakes too.
I cannot watch that jerk who won NFNS last year.
