A slug has no redeaming qualities. They are happily drowned in my garden in little dishes of beer.

I think I too would opt for the ladybug, they have that great theme song "The Ladybug Picnic", but catapillers do turn in to butterflies. No I am sticking with ladybug! Man that was hard!
