When I went to the movies constantly in the 70s, there was an actor named Kip Niven. He seemed to turn up frequently in small roles. Earthquake, Airport 75 and I can't remember what else. What happend to him?

Oh, GOD, nmartin!
A very small world, indeed.
Kip is an old friend ... and by that I mean VERY old. I knew him when I was five years old. He was at Kansas University as an undergrad, at the time, when my parents were in grad school. My dad was getting his master's, and my mother was in the resident company. They did many plays together (along with Don Johnson, who was also an undergrad, at the time).
I've known Kip, off and on, ever since. At one point, he was married to Linda Lavin. That didn't last long (or end well) ... but Kip is now married to a very dear, old friend of mine from college.
They are living happily in the Kansas City area. And Kip is doing lots of regional theatre. He was just in the "world premiere" musical version of A Christmas Story there.

Roscoe, those are two huge favorites ... and both among my favorite "Gilligan's Island" guest stars. :)
Vito was a riot. And Mike was so distinctive in everything. I think it was that VOICE. Great character actors.
... Oh, and Karen Black can fly my jet plane any day. To hell with that Captain What's-His-Name in the Hudson River. Even with her crossed eyes. I miss Karen.

Best12, unreal! Thanks for the info. It just gets stranger. I got up around three this morning (Friday), and Kip is on one of the cable movie channels in Earthquake.

Marquise, I love One, Two, Three.
Regarding Monte Markham, sometime in the early or mid-70s Markham, Dana Andrews and Howard Duff toured in a play about Jefferson and Burr. My dad took me to see it. I think it was called Together Tonight or something like that.

Vito Scotti as Dr. Boris Balinkoff on GILLIGAN'S ISLAND, man what a treat, with Mike Mazurki as his hulking sidekick. Dr. Balinkoff kidnaps the castaways and re-arranges their identities, and somehow Mazurki and Ginger get switched.
The great moment comes when Mazurki's voice comes out of Ginger's body, "I'm in here. Feels good."

Remember Lisa Gerritsen, the great Bess on the Mary Tyler Moore Show? She just plain retired, didn't she. A shame.
